Getting Healthy, Fit and Sexy - the World's Pastime

Fischer Sharpe
Every year millions of people partake in one common activity. These people come from all sort of backgrounds; they may be talk show hosts like Lou Dobbs, Don Imus, or Richard Parker. They may be professional sports stars like Alex Rodriguez or Lebron James. George Bush, Hillary Clinton, and Lindsey Lohan all participate in this popular pastime. When our scope is taken out wider, we find even more people that partake in this common pastime. People from China, Iraq, Iran, India, and most of the world also partake in this activity. What activity could possibly attract so many people? Don't read any further until you've made a few guesses. If you answered getting fit, healthy, and sexy then you're absolutely correct!

The multitude of people that participate in this popular activity is proof of its relative diversity. Some people try to become healthy by picking good food to eat while others try to accomplish the same by participating in sports. People from Iraq or China may try to accomplish this feat in tremendously different ways than people in America do, but the goal is still the same: getting fit, healthy, and looking sexy. Despite the huge number of people that partake in this activity, very few of them consider themselves successful in it.

With so many people from around the world partaking in this one activity, why do so many people fail? So many people fail in this activity because they are often attracted to fads and don't truly want to live a healthy life. These people lack proper education about the fitness process, and often resort to drugs or strange diets that are supposed to make you healthy. These diet extremes go as far as drinking 2 beers a day, to eating as much turkey as you want (albeit some diet's have very small success rates)!

All of these crazy diet ideas are basically derivatives from two primary ideas: providing your body with nourishment, and participating in activities. Some people, like Lindsay Lohan take one of the two to extremes. This makes it quite easy to realize that the key to becoming healthy is a balanced fitness regimen accompanied by a stringent nourishment program.

By balancing nourishment with fitness you are taking "the best of both worlds" so to say in the battle for a healthy body. In order to become more fit is a great idea to manage your bodies intake of calories, while at the same time burning some of the calories through sport. Extremes in either category will generally lead to failure.

Fitness program's can normally be divided into two categories: aerobic fitness and anabolic fitness. Aerobic fitness increases general health and reduces weight, while anabolic fitness increases muscle mass. Just as in most things related to your health, a balanced approach is the best idea. Running one day, and lifting weights the next day would be a great example of this.

It's so simple to get fit that anyone can do it! With so many people around the world, as well as the great number of celebrities partaking in this pastime, what are you waiting for? Why aren't you jumping on the bandwagon and trying to get a fit, sexy, and most importantly, healthy body?
