The best way to find out about the various clubs and activities offered at The College of New Jersey is through the student activities webpage. There you will find a comprehensive list of all the college-sponsored groups. Almost all the groups have their own website, which is a great way to find out more about who they are what they actually do. However, a lot of the clubs' websites are somewhat outdated, especially if you are viewing them over a semester break. Because of this, it's a good idea to email the club for details about meeting times and places. Every campus organization has an official email address and these are usually prominently listed on their web page if they have one. Most of them are well-monitored so you should receive a speedy response to any questions you may have.
Another great way to find out about student organizations is through events run by student activities. There is usually and activities fair at the beginning of the fall semester and "Lions Fest" at the end of the spring semester. During these times, many organizations set up booths or tables on campus and try to recruit new members. Even if you're not certain you want to join a club, these events make it really easy to see what clubs are out there, talk to members and club officers, and find out when meetings are held. Most clubs hold their meetings on Wednesday afternoons when most students do not have classes. However, some have meetings at other times during the week and most have executive board meetings or practices at some other point during the week. It's always a good idea to find out what you need to attend as a member and which activities are optional.
Once on campus, there are several other ways to find out about clubs and organizations. Many clubs have welcome events at the beginnings of the semesters. These events are usually well advertised on campus bulletin boards, especially the ones in the dorms, in the student center, and in Eickoff hall. You can also check the TCNJ homepage for a list of upcoming campus events. Members of different clubs may also email event information to classmates using SOCS. Attending classmates' events really shows support. No matter what you're looking for, there is a club at The College of New Jersey for you!
