MORE TERMS OF HOMEOPATHY

Homeopathy is a very effective way of healing by providing a more natural way to treat common illnesses. It is also constantly being researched and updated, therefore making it very effective. Caution is advised though to the person that does not have the necessary knowledge. Homeopathy, although natural can be dangerous in the hands of unskilled people.

Repertories

These are books or lists that contain the information collected during provings and verifications, these vary greatly in size, the larger ones contains the remedies in a graded form and even the authority involved. Repertories are used in the efficiency of treating patients, due to the great volume of information contained by these books computers has proven of great help as there is no homeopathic physician that can remember all that is written in the pages of these books, thus making it much easier to treat a patients specific illness.

Symptoms

This is what the patient is feeling or experiencing at the time and this is what the remedy given to the patient will be based on. Common symptoms are the ones that are mostly seen in most illnesses and are not very useful to the physician in finding the remedy that will work the most effectively. Local or particular symptoms are more personal as it would be described as 'my nose' or 'my throat'. General symptoms would be preceded by the word "I" examples would be "I am cold" or "I am irritable" all emotional symptoms are of value.

Modalities

These are what make the sick person an individual as the same pain in one person may lessen with the application of heat but can be worsen in another person by applying heat. Finding the right remedy is made easier by stating that the symptom is not in the normal nature of the person, a normally sweet and patient person displaying irritability and inpatients, pointing out these differences in the person will make it easier to find an effective remedy.

Acute disease

In homeopathy acute diseases like a cold or chicken pox are considered self limiting as it has an incubation stage a middle stage and a convalescent phase. The symptoms in acute disease can be alleviated and the duration of the disease can be shortened with correct homeopathic treatment, and secondary infection can be prevented.

Chronic diseases

These diseases can be treated very effectively with homeopathy as no further professional help is needed and treatment can safely and effectively continue at home. In these cases homeopathy treats at a deeper level thus strengthening the person's immune system and helping the body to get rid of or minimize this illness.
