The hotel and lodge sit back from busy Los Gatos/Saratoga Road so that visitors are not bombarded with the sounds of the freeway and the road while they are attending a wedding or sleeping inside the hotel. A large variety of trees, including pines, adds to the quaintness of the lodge.
When my husband and I got married there 20 years ago, the facility was painted brown. It blended in so well with the environment that we would have missed it, if it were not for the large triangular sign that sits next to the entrance. The Lodge has other sentimental value, as my grandmother went there to play bridge with her ladies' club once a week.
The wedding coordinator was very knowledgeable. She helped me pick out the best package for a wedding that would have approximately 100 people. We were offered a special discount on hotel rooms for our out-of-town guests, which was a blessing because my husband and I had decided to get married over Memorial Day weekend.
They gave us complimentary rooms for the bridal party so that we could change in and out of our wedding attire. That turned out to be a good thing because it started to rain at the end of the day. The hotel rooms were spacious and well-kept.
Our wedding ceremony was held outside in the garden area, which has a patio cover and enough trees to block out the road noise. The cover let in enough light so that the area was not gloomy, even with the clouds rolling in.
Our wedding reception took place in the neighboring banquet hall. The food tasted great, although I was too excited to each much. The tables were spaced well, and the dance floor had plenty of room for our guests. The only thing that went wrong was the air-conditioner broke. Other than that, getting married at Los Gatos Lodge was a wonderful experience.
Today, the Lodge is painted white. They offer four wedding packages, along with a la carte options. Please visit the website to see what each wedding package includes. Group rates are available for your out-of-town guests and your bridal party.
