If you consistently write about your interest in website building, awesome. The market trend on your page will be about web hosting, and other technical jargon I honestly know little about. OK for some, I would imagine those are value for money deals, but I'm not a techie geek enough to want my own website in the first place. In fact, I joined a revenue sharing site the other day and walked away somewhat disgruntled because I couldn't figure out the settings etc.
Not only that, with so many free blog sites around I personally find it hard to justify the expense of owning a .com of my own anyway, let alone the interest rate my credit card company charges per month. So, blogs and articles which show people how to make money, save money, get published, become a freelance writer and so on, will ultimately pull you much more traffic. People who are interested enough to read your article are precisely looking for a related market ,and as if by magic, there it is.
It's all mostly common sense but it is also very easy to get carried away writing and look up to find a whole hour missing. Since you want to make the most money per hour that you can, aim to write 2 articles in the same amount of time and post them in several different places. Two articles an hour ought to come easy. Having done that, set some time aside once per week and submit your new URLS to Yahoo! , Google and MSN free submission sites.
As trends change and people no longer want to write for money, keep doing it anyway. Just research the current trend and write about that instead. People will still be able to locate you via a search engine, and your article will be right up there beside the new fad.
