Getting the Most Money Possible for Seasonal Items on EBay

We've all looked in our closets before and noticed a bunch of things we'd love to get rid of such as: Halloween Costumes, Christmas decorations, summer baby clothes, and maybe even a musical instrument or two. We've all had the thought occur to us why not list this on eBay? The problem is that it's probably not even worth our effort if the item is seasonal and we're in the wrong season. So instead of just donating items that could bring you some needed cash why not use a calendaring system with your Microsoft Outlook to set monthly reminders of when to list the items and then store them in their shipping containers (such as priority mail flat rate boxes or bags to keep it simple). Here is an example to follow for the Halloween Costume:

1. Take a picture of you or your child in the Halloween Costume so the buyer can get a good idea of what it looks like on a person vs. just seeing a picture of it laying there on a table or the floor. This will give their own imagination an idea of how they can utilize the costume for themselves.

2. Package the item in its shipping container and write on the bottom of the box or envelope what the item is (ie Mickey Mouse Costume).

3. Open up your Microsoft Outlook Calendar and choose a date within 30 day of the event (such as September 30th for Halloween). Open up an appt. and label it Sell eBay Item.

4. Attach the photo inside the appointment so you have it there to list on eBay without having to search for it on your computer. Also add how much you'd like to sell it for, how many days to list it (I suggest 7 days) and what you'll charge for shipping to keep everything simple for you to cut and paste into your listing.

5. Continue setting appointments for any other items. A wedding dress would be good to list in March or April for June as a popular wedding month. A baby's summer dress would be great to start listing in May, and so on.

If you follow the system and have your packages labeled clearly and stored away you won't feel like seasonal items are causing clutter or taking up space in your closet (you could even store them in the garage depending on the item). To get the most money out of all year round items I choose November and early December to list a variety of items for those folks looking for Christmas gifts. Using your calendar to guide your sales will keep you in the money and stop you from missing the best time to sell on eBay.
