Your home is one of the largest investment you will make and you should take care and maintain it. It is important to have your home heating system inspected by a professional.
1.The professional should check the duct work for sagging or any type of damage.
2. Check around the chimney to make sure there are no gaps.
3.Inspect the air filters and change as needed. Dirty filters can increase your energy cost and damage your system.
4.Check all gas or oil connections and burner. When using a natural gas furnace the flame should be a pretty clear blue if it is any other color the burners maybe dirty and need to be cleaned.
5.The controls on your system should start and shut off properly.
6Make sure the condensation drain is checked. It should be clean and running freely.
7.All moving parts should be lubricated. Make sure your thermostat setting are accurate.
8.The inspector would need to tighten all electrical connections and measure voltage and current on the motor.
This will help you get the most out of your heating system.
