Getting Your Music to Dominate the Web

Anna C.
As an independent artist it is imperative to create a buzz for yourself. Taking advantage of the Internet is a no brainer.

Website
You must start with a website. Make it look as cool as possible. There is really no need to pay a web designer. There are to many website interfaces with drag and drop designing like wix.com. So there is no need to know HTML anymore, unless you just really want to learn it.. Post samples of your music. Add your social networks like Twitter and Face book so your fans can connect with you.

Reverbnation
Open a Reverbnation account. It's free and you have the chance to climb charts. If your hot you can get alot of good connects from them. They also allow fans to grab the HTML embed code from your page and share your music. In other words people can post your player on their page and their friends can listen to your music without ever leaving the page.

YouTube
YouTube also offers the chance to raise in popularity. If you get enough views you can possibly be posted on the front page of YouTube. Justin Beiber got big from YouTube and so can you. Add friends and get views...that's the key.

Face book
Open a face book. Add as many friends as possible. When you reach your 5000 friend limit, start a new page and repeat. When you post to FB it will show up in all your friends feeds. If you get great feedback that means you are awesome and people love you. If not....um....keep trying.

Shows
Do local shows. Perform at clubs, churches, bars, functions, festivals in your city. Do this consistently. Once you get popular locally the popularity will spread into other cities. Also, video every performance so people on line can see how well you perform. Post the performances to your Face book, Twitter, YouTube and your website.
