Getting Your Space Organized
The largest priority you should make to get organized is with your work space. A cluttered work space can clutter your thoughts. I know, if your work area was like mine, it can be a huge task to clean it up and get it organized. The process of becoming organized should not be a stressful one, so take it in steps. Dedicated 15 minutes a day to organizing your work space and it will be completed in no time. Make sure your work space is open and clear to help you think and work. Try to get everything in your work space organized so you do not have to waste any more time then necessary looking for things you need. This will increase your productivity level.
Organize Your Time
An important part of working from home involves organizing your time. Many people do not understand that working from home takes ideal motivation and determination because of all the surrounding distractions. To organize your time, figure out which times of the day are the most productive for you. Maybe it is when all the kids are off at school, or late at night. Figure out what works best for you and set yourself up to work at that time. This is a great way to organize your time and increase your productivity level because you won't have to force yourself to work as hard during the times of unproductive times of day.
Organize Your Thoughts
Scatter brains rarely accomplish as much as they should. So get your thoughts organized. Make a clear and concise to-do list for the day to help keep you on track and focused. This will reduce the chance of you forgetting to do something or having to spend time trying to remember what it was you were going to do. Organizing your thoughts can be done with a to-do list or make a recoding for yourself. Cell phones are now often equipped with a recording device. You can use this to organize your thoughts.
Organizing Your Goals
To remain productive through out the year, organize your goals. Write down what your goals are for the year to help keep you on the right track and focused through out the year. Setting work goals for yourself is a great motivational tool. Motivation equals productivity. Set long term and short term goals for yourself to help keep you organized and focused through out the year.
Organizing your life is a very important aspect of working from home. As the New Year begins, start off with a clean slate. Get yourself organized to have a great work year ahead of you. If it is already a little late into the New Year, don't worry. It is never to late to get started!
