Getting Ready for a Night Out in a Flash

An invitation to go paint the town red can sometimes be delivered when you least expect it, and when you are the least ready to go out. Getting fabulous doesn't have to be a three hour endeavor. Here are some quick tips to look nightclub ready in fifteen minutes or less.

Red Lipstick

It's crazy how so many women are still intimidated by red lipstick. This little tube has been a style staple for decades, and yet so many women still shy away from it, for fear of looking too much like a "vixen." Fire engine lips can make you look glam in a pinch, and work wonders with a simple two-minute updo and a little black dress.

The Gel Ponytail

Need to shower, but don't want to deal with styling your hair? Models and fashionistas alike swear by this little trick. Blow dry your hair until it's fifty percent dry, and then brush it into a tight ponytail. Slather your head with a strong hold hair gel, and let it sit down while you do your makeup and pick out an outfit. Blast it with a little more heat from your hair dryer, and then let it down. Voila! The coveted, slicked back and voluminous hairstyle of French supermodels.

One Crazy Wardrobe Piece

Many women invest in off the wall or daring fashion staples that they rarely wear, weather it be a sequined mini dress or leather stiletto boots. What many don't realize is that these pieces make great looks all by themselves on evenings when you don't have two hours to get ready. It is actually preferable to go au naturale when wearing one of these pieces - two much makeup or an eye catching hairstyle can actually be overpowering. When you're wearing a truly eye catching wardrobe piece, all you need is a simple ponytail and just a little bit of foundation and mascara, and you're ready to go.

Bling!

Don't be afraid to play with jewelry to glamorize an otherwise simple look. A pair of crisp dark denim jeans and a black tank can be uber stylish when accessorized with a pair of diamond earrings. Can't afford authentic dazzlers? Don't go for fakes, but rather play with costume jewelry, readily available at kitsch and retro stores. Remember, never try to convince others that a piece is authentic. Rather, just have fun playing with obvious and fabulous fakes.
