Getting Rid of Back Fat

Ack! Back Fat!

One of the grossest things you may think is negative about your appearance might be your back fat. Let's face it; back fat is not a sign of beauty. Skinny people, models and even great, beautiful men and women in ancient civilizations had clearly defined backs and laterals. Laterals are the muscles connected to and controlling your shoulder blades and lower shoulders. These good looking men and beautiful women show their beauty in their health. Their muscles move easily over the tissue and bone structure, the bones are somewhat defined, but not too sharply, and the skin is usually in great condition. If someone is sickly or unhealthy, their entire body, including their back, looks unhealthy and less beautiful. The skin is unfed and looks sallow, the tissue does not have nutrients and it loses mass quickly, and the bones stick out. Let's study how to get rid of back fat, and how to make you look more healthy and more beautiful.

Tissue drainage. Everyone underestimates the power of tissue drainage. You see, your tissues can be mostly clogged up with toxins, which prevent proper growth and elimination of negative things, including fat. Your body knows to not be fat, it does not want to be fat, and, if given the appropriate resources, will eliminate and melt extra fat. One of the ways you can help this along is by draining some of the toxins out of your tissues. Using rubber gloves, pour or run boiling hot water in a clean sink. After the water is hot enough, put in the stopper and let the sink fill up halfway. Put in several folded-up towels and press them down into the really hot water. In the meantime, you should have a waterproof surface to lay yourself down upon. This can be a massage or therapy table, or an artist's tarp spread over a long couch or a bed. Drain the hot water out of the sink and squeeze the towels so that they are not sopping wet. It's okay to squeeze them a little dry. Quickly take them to the waterproof bed or table and unfold them. Quickly take off your shirt and perhaps other clothes which might get in the way, and lay yourself down upon the hot towels. Watch TV or read a book for two hours, moving your back as little as possible. The suction created with the hot moisture and the solid towel allows your body to safely drain toxins out of your tissues. Rinse off in the shower after the two hours are complete.

Chiropractic care. Your back, specifically your spine, needs movement. It craves movement. When it is left to get stiff and sore, the vertebrae fuse together, causing pinched nerves and inflammation of your spinal cord. Your back needs proper drainage and lymph care, and this means care of the underlying structure as well. Schedule an appointment with your local chiropractor, remembering to return for twice weekly check-ups in order to maintain your good posture. Your body can be realigned, but if it is in the 'habit' of being crooked or off balance then it may return to your original posture and clogged support system. That is why it is important to continue chiropractic check-ups in order to maintain the correct movement while your spine is learning new habits.

Massage. Though spinal movement is important, facilitating movement among your tissues helps to break apart fat deposits and to control cellulose a great deal. Also, massage can help you relax from daily tensions which cause fat to develop and improper spinal alignment in the first place. Mostly though, massage helps empty your lymph drainage system. Your body knows to eliminate fat and when it is allowed to do this, it uses the lymph more than any other elimination system. You see, your fat cells can contain toxins, which is why you may itch when doing aerobic exercise. As the fat is melted, the toxins are released back into your body. This is why you should drink water and fruit juice during aerobic exercise and back massages, because these help to flush out the toxins which are being released.

Protein. We have all heard of the Atkins' diet and it has endured heavy criticism due to the all-protein, no-carbohydrate philosophy. First, that is only the induction diet for heavily overweight people who are 300 lbs or more. Second, the diet introduces healthy carbs later on. However, it is nice to know the benefits of protein. Your muscles use both oil and water to move, and your bones and skin use both oil and water to remain lubricated. This is why you might see many people at the supermarket purchasing low-fat food and quite a bit of lotion, as well. Their skin is not remaining lubricated properly. Oil is just another word for fat and healthy fat is essential to eliminating back fat. You see, healthy fat does not remain upon your body in any form. That is why it is important to continue getting plenty of red meat, butter, cheddar cheese, yogurt and cream. These are examples of healthy proteins and fats. Unhealthy examples include margarine, highly processed cheese, and 2% or skim milk.

Exercise. Yes, we have finally reached the exercise portion of getting rid of your back fat. The most important thing to remember is that your body will distribute your fat evenly over itself and that every time you lose fat quickly in one part of your body, you will regain it in small amounts within a day or so, after the redistribution of fat has taken place. So do not be discouraged by short-term redistribution. You will probably have to lose fat in all parts of your body to see an unchanging appearance in your back. Aerobic exercise is perfect for getting rid of large portions of fat in the worst places. In addition to that, there are a couple of exercises specifically for the back.

The first exercise is called Back Crunches. Stand upright and locate the center point in your back. This will most likely be between the small of your back and your upper back. Whereas with Abdominal Crunches, the purpose is to crunch toward the line around your waist, with Back Crunches, you will be crunching toward a mid-point in the center of your back, pulling muscles from above and below as well as from the right and the left. Focus on the mid-point of your back and begin tightening your muscles in short, quick spurts. This will simultaneously pull back your shoulders, lift your tailbone, and tighten your side muscles.

The second exercise is frequently referred to as the Superman. Lay yourself down upon a firm surface such as a therapy table or padded bench and extend your arms out above your head. Keeping your legs and arms straight at all times, simultaneously lift your right arm and left leg and lower, then lift your left arm and right leg and lower. Repeat, remembering to keep all limbs straight in order to get the maximum pull out of your back muscles.

Showing off your back. After you have succeeded in getting rid of your back fat, remember to show off all of your hard work! Women can wear backless, draping tops or spaghetti strap tops and men can wear tank tops or go shirtless. Make use of the summer sun and play beach volleyball or go swimming in a public swimming pool. Keep your skin moistened by wearing plenty of lotion and remembering to eat your healthy fats with your meals. Enjoy the feel of your sexy new back!
