Getting Rid of Unwanted Documents

You know that you shouldn't keep those outdated documents with personal information just lying around. And to throw them away in the trash could be a bad choice, especially in lieu of the possibility of identity theft and all the problems that come with it. What's a person to do? Here's what a local funeral home is sponsoring in Raytown.

WHAT: Shred-It

WHEN: Saturday, May 7, 2111

TIME: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon

WHERE: McGilley & Sheil Chapel

ADDRESS: 11924 E. 47th St.

COST: This is a free community event

HIGHLIGHTS:

Staples, paper clips and cardboard boxes will be shredded along with all paper items. Paper must be free of food, wood or glass contents.

So if you're wondering where to safely get rid of those old bills, financial and personal documents, this would be a great place to start the process.

A local television station hosts a shredder event in Atlanta a couple of times a year. Great information to share for locals.
