Exfoliate
Use a gentle exfoliator to exfoliate your body. Pay extra attention to dry areas and rough areas like elbows, knees, and feet. For your face, use an exfoliator made specifically for the face. Products used for the body are usually not as mild as facial products. When exfoliating, remember that you are not trying to scrub your skin off! Don't rub too hard. Let the grains gently roll across your skin in a circular motion.
Moisturize
Keep your skin moisturized by using a daily moisturizer. Get one for the body, and one for the face. You can even purchase the lotions that have the self-tanner in them that will gradually add a tan or glow to your skin.
Drink Water
This is VERY important. Your body needs water...plain and simple! Your body can get dehydrated more quickly during the summer due to excessive exposure to heat. Drink plenty of water everyday, and drink extra on days that you will be outside for long periods of time. Not only is water good for your body, it is great for your skin. It flushes impurities and toxins from your body. This goes for your skin, as well as your body.
Toner
If you battle with oily skin, you know the summer heat can cause your skin to produce more oil than normal. Using a gentle toner or witch hazel will usually keep this under control. Don't use alcohol. This will over-dry your skin, which will then cause your skin to produce even more oil.
Exercise
Your body sweats when you workout, therefore ridding your body of toxins and impurities. Also, when you exercise, it helps increase the circulation in your skin and gives you a beautiful, lasting glow.
Sunscreen
Your skin can get damaged from excess amounts of sun. Years and years of tanning and not applying sunscreen can cause wrinkles, and even worse, skin cancer. Always apply moisturizer to prevent skin cancer and wrinkles.
Back acne?
Back acne is something a lot of people have to deal with. There are things you can do to get your back clear and keep it that way! Take a look at my article on this subject for great info and helpful tips: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/88582/back_acne_a_guide_to_getting_your_back.html
If you follow this guideline, you should have great summer skin. You can also search around for more info on your specific skin type. Also, if you have any medical problems, or are taking any photoreactive drugs, I recommend contacting your doctor or dermatologist, as I am neither of these!
Good luck and I hope you have a beautiful summer, with beautiful skin to match!
