Getting Your Skin Ready for Summer

Rachel Archer
More than likely your skin has suffered from the lack of moisture during the winter leaving rough patches of skin.

To get rid of the dry skin you need to exfoliate paying special attention to your knees, elbows and feet. A loofah will work but if you have some extra time try an all-over exfoliating body mask which not only pampers you but does a tremendous job getting rid of the dry skin.

Another big procedure is to remove any unwanted hair since more skin will be showing. For an easy, pain-free hair removal choose a depilatory. I was not a fan of these a few years ago because I found them harsh, but I now use Nair all of the time with great results that last.

So you don't blind anyone when you go out in shorts for the first time you should begin a self-tanning process about three weeks before the big outing. A little glow on your skin will not only make you look healthy but will give you a boost of confidence.

Pamper your feet with a thick coating of a moisturizer designed for dry, cracked feet every day.

Once you start your process continue throughout the summer pampering your skin. Do not do all of these treatments all at once. Mixing the processes in one day can cause irritation to your skin so use caution.

One thing that should not be skipped is moisturizing. Apply a specialized moisturizer every day to boost your skins smoothness.

Don't forget about the SPF factor. Use daily on your face all year round but when more skin becomes exposed it means you will need to spend more time protecting not only your skin but your health. Do not fool around with sun protection. It is a must. Not to dwell on the subject but I have lost several family members to cancer. So please use sunscreen anywhere your skin is bare. If your out for the day at a beach, spread it all-over even where the sun won't be in direct contact.

Having smooth summer ready skin will give you great confidence to show the world how great you look with just a little effort.
