Getting in Touch with Your 'Inner Bitch'

Do you find that you resemble a doormat? Is your niceness becoming toxic to your health? If so, you need to read, "Getting in Touch with Your Inner Bitch" by Elizabeth Hilts.

What is an 'Inner Bitch'? According to the author, she is NOT a woman who is selfish, difficult, loud, and throws tantrums at a whim. She IS, however, a strong woman who refuses to be taken advantage of. She's a woman who sick of being looked down upon and being told how to act, dress, eat, date, and work. Her favorite phrase is, "I don't think so". In her book, Ms. Hilts tells us exactly what to do to awaken our Inner Bitch.

At the beginning, we are told in painful detail what prompted the author to write this guide. The reader is informed what 'Toxic Niceness' is and how it is bad for us. For example, when your kid's teacher asks you to sew costumes for the class play in two days even though your plate is already full, and you say 'yes', while feeling like a nuclear explosion went off in your head-you may be suffering from 'Toxic Niceness'!

Ms. Hilts explains what your 'Inner Bitch' is and what it is not, while letting you know the appropriate time and place to let her go free. She warns you of the changes you may experience when people discover they can no longer walk all over you, and tells you how to handle those situations. The author also explains what may happen when two Inner Bitches have the opportunity to butt heads.

We are given the inspiration to stand up for ourselves when it comes to sex, our husbands/boyfriends, our children, our money, and our workplaces. From what we eat to our politics, Ms. Hilts tells us how the Inner Bitch deals with these daily situations and the power that comes from them.

The reader is treated to a list of famous women from the past that were in touch with their Inner Bitches. She gives us helpful stress-relieving and self-esteem strengthening exercises to perform on a daily basis. The author even gives us a small guide to recognizing the 'Inner Prince' in the men in our lives and how they can draw out those qualities in themselves.

This book is 109 pages of non-stop humorous advice, hilarious short comic strips and cartoons, and quotes from modern-day famous women in touch with their Inner Bitches. I recommend it for any woman who wants a good laugh and/or needs a boost in her self-esteem!
