American Civil War Museum
OK, so you can't go to Gettysburg and not learn a bit about the war! But make it a good experience by visiting the Civil War Museum and learn all about the Civil War era and the famous Battle at Gettysburg. You owe yourself that much, at least! The museum has been open since 1962 and boasts over 8 million visitors since. The past is creatively recreated by voice overs and so many realistic props, you'll think you're actually there! American Museum of Natural History
This is a unique museum that offers different perspectives on the Civil War era. Many programs are offered to learn the history of the key players in the war. Check out "A Visit with General Grant" or "Mrs. Julia Dent Grant" to learn about the more personal side of the battle, and the people who were in it. Lincoln Train Museum
Chances are, someone in your family loves trains, especially if you have any kids. 1000 trains are on display at the Lincoln Toy Train Layout in Gettysburg. The purpose of the display is to inform and educate on the important role of the railroad during the Civil War. Kids and adults alike will adore the Presidential Train Ride with Lincoln, also known as the "Lincoln Train Ride." Learn much about the area as you travel to Gettysburg on board. Country Curiosity Store at the Dobbin House
No trip would be complete without a trip to buy souvenirs, right? Drop in on the Country Curiosity Store for a large array of gifts.
