Recently I had the pleasure of interviewing the founder of the vision, Gary Brantley and here's what he had to say.
AC: Hi Gary, as a person with passion for children and young adults myself, I am honored to have the opportunity to speak with you about your vision; GetYoCHURCHOn.com.
GB: Thank you and I am honored to speak with you as well. I appreciate the opportunity to be able to share with you my vision that God placed in my mind and heart. I truly believe that we are in the age and time of information and not just to obtain information but to utilize that in which we obtain to cultivate the world. It is clearly stated in the bible that in all thy getting get an understanding, I think that the only way to get an understanding is to be properly informed!
AC: Let's start at the beginning Gary; tell our readers who you are and where you're from.
GB: Well, I am Gary Brantley from Youngstown Ohio, I have been in the IT field for 10 years working with several companies over the course of those years. I work as the Chief Information Officer with a Corporation in Cleveland Oh, I am also apart of the music department at Calvary Ministries Intl in Youngstown, Ohio.
AC: There are many visionaries that find it hard to balance their personal lives with their call. How do you handle both?
GB: I truly believe that you find time to do the things that are important to you and prioritize not only your time but your obligations as well. I set goals as well as a timeline that I plan to achieve them and then I set in place a plan to make it happen. There is a saying that says that "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail", I truly believe that, that's why I make sure to always make plans and then do my best to prioritize them in a way that is not unreasonable therefore I am able to achieve them.
AC: When did you first get the vision for GetYoCHURCHOn.com?
GB: The vision for Getyochurchon.com was placed on my heart in a church service while my pastor Bishop Norman Wagner was ministering. I remember him stating how this one particular Social Network was not the proper place for our youth. The site was sending the wrong message not only to the youth but to adults alike. About two weeks later I accompanied a few friends to Jamaica and while we were in the airport I began to plan out the design and structure of the site and the rest is history.
AC: Is this a great resource for Non Christians as well as the Body of Christ?
GB: This is resource for both believers and non believers. This site is designed to give you a Christian experience but it also provides a safe and clean environment for users. We want parents to trust that when their kids are online that they are protected. The site currently offers features such as; promotional networking for artists, record labels as well as ministries. We offer chatrooms, blogging, music, videos, news and more.
AC: Are there any plans to expand your vision in the future and if so, what medium do you plan to use in order to get the word out?
GB: There are always plans in the works to expand. I am constantly thinking of ways to expand the vision. My goal is to make this a one stop shop.
AC: Do you see your vision going beyond our local communities and reaching the international platform?
GB: Yes, I do. That's why my first means of communication is the world wide web (the internet). That is why the internet is so unique. I can reach people across the world without ever having to leave my home. Presently we have users in London England and around the world. I am working on going into schools and obtaining interviews like this one to make sure that we are reaching our kids because they are our future.
AC: Gary, can you tell our audience where they can contact you for more information and also tell us how we can help support your vision?
GB: People can contact me by going to the website www.getyochurchon.com or directly at gbrantley@getyochurchon.com. To support the vision, please spread the word and tell as many people as possible about the site. You may also copy and paste the html code off of the front page of the website and post it on your website as well as your personal pages.
AC: Do you have any final words of wisdom that you would like to share with people that have a vision, but don't quite know how or when to implement it?
GB: I would be honored to share, first of all to anyone who has a vision that you would love to see come to pass and or implement you must first write it and make it plain. Revisit your plans on a daily basis. Make sure that you make daily as well as weekly goals to ensure that you are constantly doing something to work towards your goal. As you accomplish goals, mark them off and immediately make another.
AC: It has been an extreme pleasure having you share your heart with us today Gary and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
GB: I would like to thank God and thank you for the opportunity and platform to be able to share with people my vision for all internet users.
