Gevalia Coffee Customer Service Stinks

Gevalia Coffee customer services stinks based on my experience with their $3 sample offer. You may have seen lots of internet sites complaining about Gevalia scams. This is the advice I got from my credit card company for problems with Gevalia Coffee.

First, I really appreciate all the genuine free offers online which have been a great help since I was laid off at 50. It makes Gevalia Coffee's conduct all the worse. When they charged $3 for 3 sample boxes, I didn't suspect a scam.

I've found great stuff at yesall4free.com so I believed the advertising for 3 sample boxes of Gevalia Coffee for $3 with no obligation. Only after I placed the order, text appeared referring to "ongoing shipments." When the online option for cancelling lacked any submit button, I called an operator who told me I could "rest assured" there was nothing to cancel. Meanwhile, Gevalia had sent an email claiming that I ordered ongoing shipments for four different kinds of coffee.

I called back and was placed on hold for almost an hour. When the operator finally answered, she tried to ignore my requests to cancel and just kept assuring me that my $3 order was fine. When I insisted on cancelling, she told me I would have to call back another day. I told her I would call my credit card company.

The credit card company (Visa in this case) affirmed that this is the best approach in these cases. Not surprisingly, they are seeing more of these automatic shipment tactics and say they are generally successful in disputing them. They warned that Gevalia may try to keep billing my card but that I can keep reporting them to avoid being charged.

There are many valid internet offers but I wanted to warn people about Gevalia Coffee. I'm hoping they will desist, but now see a lot of online postings from people who also found that Gevalia customer service stinks. They allege that that the company ignored repeated cancellation requests and turned accounts over to collection agencies rather than cancelling them as requested.

Since being laid off, I literally work 6 or 7 days a week at a low paying job and free lance writing so that I won't burden others. I hope Gevalia Coffee might learn the same lesson. Bad economic times are no excuse for scamming people with automatic shipments and ignoring cancellation requests.

Yes, this is happening more and more. It's wise -in my estimate- to hear from others if they are content or not before dealing with ANY company such as this one.

The coffee itself doesn't have much to recommend it either!
