The front of the box does a great job of whetting the appetite of consumers. It pictures a very rich looking brownie covered in delectable chocolate fudge. The size and detail of the picture definitely catches your eye when scanning the shelf of dessert mixes. I paid only $2.99 for an eighteen ounce box. Considering that this is only one dollar more than generic brands, this was certainly a price I was willing to pay.
Preparation of this mix is very simple and takes only minutes. After heating the oven to three hundred and twenty five degrees, one fourth of a cup of water, one third of a cup of vegetable oil and one egg get whisked together in a bowl. The enclosed bag of brownie mix then gets added to the liquid ingredients and blended together. After pouring into a baking pan that has been coated with cooking spray, it then gets placed into the oven. The recommended pan size is 8" x 8". Depending on whether a metal or glass pan is used, the baking time will vary between thirty nine and forty eight minutes.
One three tablespoon prepared mix with one and a half teaspoon of fudge topping contains one hundred and seventy calories with seventy calories from Fat. There is four grams of Fat, with two grams from Saturated Fat. This serving size contains five milligrams of Cholesterol and one hundred milligrams of Sodium. One gram of Dietary Fiber, seventeen grams of Sugar and one gram of Protein is contained in this amount. There is no Vitamin A, Vitamin C or Calcium in this product, but six percent of Iron is included. The serving size represents one two inch brownie with topping.
The very special part of of this dessert mix is the enclosed package of fudge topping. When the brownies have only a few minutes left to bake, the sealed bag gets placed in a cup of warm water to soften for four or five minutes. The pouch then gets squeezed a few times to ensure it is soft enough for spreading. Immediately after removing the pan from the oven, the thick and rich topping gets coated over the entire pan. A butter knife or thin spatula can be used to help spread it. Once the brownies are completely cool, they can be cut into two inch squares and enjoyed with a glass of milk or cup of coffee.
Ghirardelli Ultimate Fudge Brownies are now my very favorite. The mix is inexpensive, easy to prepare and results in a pan of delicious dessert bars that are wonderfully sweet and rich. The added fudge topping only enhances the decadent taste. This is one product that is equally appealing to both adults and children, although children may not be able to appreciate the high quality chocolate flavor as much as adults. I highly recommend this product to anyone who loves brownies or fudge and is looking for a terrific dessert for company or casual evenings with the family.

All I had to see to come over here were the words "fudge brownies"! Yummm.
Sometimes you need a treat like this. You can always make up for it by eating a big vegetable plate for your next meal. :-)
