Sadly, Clinton Hill gets Brooklyn's 28th ghost bike.

Wondering what a ghost bike is? Chances are, as you've wandered around the city, you've seen those bikes painted white, sometimes adorned with flowers. That's a ghost bike. They are meant to memorialize bicyclists that have lost their lives in those particular spots.

On September 25, the corner of Atlantic and Washington in Clinton Hill got its own ghost bike. It marks the spot where Jasmine Herron was killed by a B45 bus when she attempted to avoid a collision with an open car door on September 11.

Herron lived in Ditmas Park and was an aspiring artist that loved riding her bike. The 23-year-old worked as a barista at Manhattan's Think Coffee. She was planning on returning to her hometown of Denver this week, but only did so for her funeral. A vigil was held on Saturday and videotaped for her mother.

The driver of the car, Crystal Francis, attempted to leave the scene and was later charged with driving on a suspended license. The bus driver has not been charged.
