"Ghost Hunters".- My Favorite Show on Sci Fi

The Atlantic Paranormal Society or TAPS is now in its third season of Ghost Hunters on the SCI FI channel as of June 6th, 2007 at 9 p.m. EST. Ghost Hunting and paranormal lovers everywhere and even skeptics can appreciate what the TAPS team is doing. TAPS was created by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, plumbers by day for Roto Rooter, and is comprised of a team of investigators who actually travel across the country and have even ventured across the globe in search of true paranormal experiences and the hope of documenting the evidence scientifically. Their mission is first, to de-bunk or recreate so called ghostly experiences in certain locations and to weed out the phonies or explain how certain sounds can be misunderstood and secondly, to present evidence to skeptics in the hope of proving that the paranormal is real.

TAPS has traveled to some of the most haunted and paranormally active places on the planet. Not every ghost hunt has turned up with undeniable evidence that the place is actually haunted, but there have been several cases where unexplained phenomenon have been caught on video camera, FLIR camera(in fared cameras), and EVP recorders(Electronic Voice Recorders) and could not be explained. TAPS has even managed to turn some skeptics into believers with the astounding evidence. It just goes to show that TAPS is contributing to major breakthroughs in the study of paranormal phenomenon. Using high tech equipment, ingenuity, and good ole common sense, Jay and Grant are able to prove or disprove hauntings of certain locations. If the evidence is not, evident...then they will not classify a location as being haunted. The founders of TAPS also try to ease the minds of individuals who are having difficult dealing with the paranormal activity that surrounds them.

The Atlantic Paranormal Society has investigated some of the most haunted places in the United States including, Waverly Hills Sanatorium, Mansfield Reformatory, The St. Augustine Lighthouse, Tombstone, and The Stanley Hotel-Infamously portrayed in Stephen King's, The Shining. All of these particular episodes were truly amazing and added even more evidence proving that paranormal activity does exist. Whether it is a residual haunting( a haunting where a certain activity or incident is replayed over and over like a video recording) or an intelligent haunting(where a "spirit" is aware of the living and tries to interact) or a phenomenon that has no explanation-(like the glass that shattered from inside the rim during the Stanley Hotel investigation) all of these occurrences prove something. What that something is...TAPS may not admit, because there may be no definitive answer. But, what it boils down to is that SOMETHING is happening. If you are open minded, or even a skeptic...I think you will enjoy the show as much as I do. In the end, I think we all want to believe. It really comes down to our own perception. Seeing is believing...in most cases.

Ghost Hunters has been renewed for a fourth season, premiering in 2008. Looks like these plumbers might have to quit their day jobs.
