Ghost Hunters on Sci Fi

We've all heard stories throughout our lives about paranormal activites that exist in almost every city in the world. If you base the possibility that ghosts are real on the number of stories in existence, then there should be no question they really exist. However, there are a lot of skeptics in the world that want absolute proof, not hear say. That is where T.A.P.S. comes in -The Atlantic Paranormal Society.

T.A.P.S. is an organization that travels to areas that are supposedly haunted and completes an investigation using the latest scientific equipment available. The interesting thing about T.A.P.S., is how the approach the investigation. Unlike most Paranormal Investigators, T.A.P.S. approaches the investigation by trying to disprove paranormal activity. In this manner, they try to find logical explanations for the activity that is being experienced in these locations. If they can not find a logical explanation, it lends credence to the reports.

How do I know about T.A.P.S.? I found out about them by watching the Sci-Fi channel. T.A.P.S. has a weekly show on Sci-Fi that airs every Wednesday at 9:00pm EST. The name of the show is "Ghost Hunters" and it follows the T.A.P.S. team around to various locations showing their investigations. The founders, Jason and Grant, along with other members of the team, do a great job explaining the technology they are using during the investigations. Normally, they show two investigations per episode with each investigation ending in the "Reveal" to their client.

The investigations range from private homes to businesses, famous places to unknown areas. Most of the places they investigate they find little evidence to support paranormal activity. Most of the information related to T.A.P.S. from the clients are easily explained away as common occurences. However, on occasion, they stumble on a case that is full of mysterious happenings that they can not explain. They've shown a chair move across the floor by itself, a table lift off the ground, members of the team (and camera men) being attacked, voices on tape, full body apparitions, etc.

The one downfall we have for the show is they do not have follow ups of their clients cases. For example, there have been some episodes where the client is afraid to go into their own homes. It would be nice if we were given an update on the progress of the client's understanding of the paranormal or their progress in removing the entity from their home.

If you are interested in the paranormal and wonder if ghosts really exist, then you need to watch the Ghost Hunters on Sci-Fi. I tend to be on the skeptic side. I believe in paranormal activities, however, I believe most people's experiences can be explained by natural events. There are only a rare few that can really be labeled as paranormal and that is what T.A.P.S. is there to find out.
