Ghost Whisperer Gets Third Season

Ghost Whisperer is a CBS television series. The series features a young, female shop owner who can communicate with ghosts. She uses her gift to help spirits unable to make their departure from earth.

Ghost Whisperer is based, at least in part, on two real life people, medium James Van Paraagh and ghost whisperer Mary Ann Winkowski.

The star of the show is Jennifer Love Hewitt playing Melinda Gordon, the owner of an antique store who has the gift of being able to talk to ghosts. She uses her gift to help the dead complete their earthly issues that are keeping them from moving on. Melinda is the interface between the ghostly spirits and the people they are haunting. Once she has help the spirits finish their unfinished business, she show them to "the light" where they can move on to their last journey on earth.

The viewers will be on the edge of their seats for the beginning of most of the episodes. Melinda is normally no more anxious about her encounters with the no longer living than most of us are talking to strangers every day. The viewers take on Melinda's comfort with the spirits early in each show. Melinda's husband, Jim, played by David Conrad, is nervous for his wife for two reasons. He is concerned about the possibility of emotional trauma that ghost whisperer Melinda might suffer trying to help her spirit acquaintances. He is also worried about what all this will do to their young marriage.

A female co-star of the show is Camryn Manheim, playing Melinda's best friend, Delia Banks. Delia is one of the only people, other than Melinda's husband, who knows of her gift.

Jenifer Love Hewitt is a former child actor with a long list of television, movie and singing credentials. Her movie roles include "Heartbreakers", "I Know What You Did Last Summer", "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer", Can't Hardly Wait", "Garfield", and "The Tuxedo". She has recently finished work on two independent films. The first was "The Truth About Love". The last is "If Only". She was a producer for the latter. Her television roles include "Party of Five", "The Audrey Hepburn Story", among others.

Ms. Hewitt is originally from Texas. She was born February 21, 1979. She Is a talented actress, but she is perhaps best known for her ample figure.

David Conrad is a veteran of feature films, Broadway and television. He has appeared in "Men of Honor", "Return to Paradise", "The Weekend" and "Anything Else". His television appearances include starring roles in "Relativity" and "Miss Match". On Broadway he has had parts in "The Deep Blue Sea", "Indian Ink" and off-Broadway productions of "Troilus and Cressida" and "Richard II".

Mr. Conrad was born August 17, 1967 and lives in Pittsburgh, PA.

Camryn Manheim was born in Caldwell, NJ, March 8, 1961. Like her Ghost Whisperer co-stars, she has a background on television, feature films, and the stage. On TV she has been seen on "The Practice", the mini-series "Elvis", "How I Met Your Mother", "Two And A Half Men", "Chicago Hope", "The L Word", "Will & Grace", "Ally McBeal" and "Gideon's Crossing".

Ms. Manhelm's film credits include "An Unfinished Life", "Dark Water", "Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing and Charm School", "Scary Movie 3", "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion", "Happiness" and "The Road to Wellville". On stages, she has been seen in "Missing Persons", "Wake Up, I'm Fat" and a long list of others.

In the upcoming season, season three, Jay Mohr will be seen in many episodes. Mr. Mohr starred in the television series "Action" and was co-creater and executive producer of the reality show PLast Comic Standing". Mr. Mohr has been a performer and writer for "Saturday Night Live". His impressive film appearances include "Jerry Maquire", "Picture Perfect", "Go", "Pay It Forward", "Suicide Kings", "King's Ransom", "The Groomsmen" and will be see in "Jump Shot".

Mr. Mohr was born August 23, 1970 in Verona, NJ.

Ghost Whisperer for Friday, June 1, 2007 will air at 8:00 PM ET/PT. In this episode a spirit will try to invade the body of a baseball pitcher for an upcoming important game. Melinda will use her gift to see it doesn't happen.

Ghost Whisperer is an interesting mixture of thrills with occasional comedy. Melinda's success in helping ghosts on their way is often heartwarming. The characters are really effective at making you believe Ghost Whisperer is a reality.

Some of the latest news about Ghost Whisperer is they have recently signed a contract for next season. That is good news for those of you who enjoy the show, and those of you that simply like to watch Ms. Hewitt.
