Ghostly Encounters: a Personal Experience with a Ghost

Kimberly Ware
As a little girl, I have always been able to see beyond the physical and into the spiritual. At age seven she I seen and communicated with ghosts and deceased loved ones. As an adolescent I started having dreams and vision of future events that has come to past.

Over the years I have had my fair share of experiences with ghosts. But there is one particular ghost that stands out from all the rest. I will always remember him because him because he has a story that he want to be told.

The ghost that I have been in communication with is attached to the surrounding areas my parent's late Victorian style house in Decatur, Georgia. My parent's house is more than a century old. In this article I am going to call him Mathew. Mathew lived during the late 1700's.

I first saw Mathew when I was nine years old when my family first moved into the house. My father did some remodeling to the house. Now when I think back on this experience, I believe that the remodeling of the house is what awakened the troubled spirit.

When I first saw Mathew I was petrified. I was child and still did not understand my gift. Mathew was dressed in eighteenth century attire. He was extremely tall and pale with blue eyes and reddish brown hair. His hair was long and pulled back into a pony tail. His throat was slit and dripping blood and his shirt was stained with blood. I screamed and hollered when I first saw him and I jetted out of the room.

No one else in my family could see Mathew except me. My youngest brother could no even see him, but I could see him. My mom gave me a long lecture of not letting people see you talking to yourself or your imaginary friends. What my mother could not understand was that I was not talking to myself or an imaginary friend; I was actually talking to the deceased or even my spiritual guide.

Almost every night I saw Mathew; I was frightened by his appearance. I did not know what he wanted but I was afraid that he was trying to come and get me and do me some harm. For years I avoid and ran away from Mathew. It was not until I became an adult that I fully understood Mathew. I stop running from the ghost and I actually had a conversation with him.

Mathew was murdered and his soul is restless because no one really knows what happened to him. He was decapitated which is why he had the slit throat. He explained that the reason he had approached me was not to scare me but to tell his story and the truth of what actually happened to him the night that he was murdered. Mathew told me that I was one of the few people who can actually see him.

I have grown to learn and understand more about ghosts and the after life through personal experiences/encounters and metaphysical studies. As a child I have ran away from my special gift of seeing and communicating with the decease. But now, I embrace and use my gifts for a higher good in helping the decease to handle their unfinished business and to cross over to the other side.
