Ghosts, Goblins, and Witches Oh My!

Sandra Hatfield
It is the night of Halloween.

All the children dress in their costumes.

Soon all the ghosts, goblins, and witches will be out and hunting for their favorite treats,

Oh My!

Grownups prepare large bowls of chocolate bars, tootsie pops, and bubble gum too.

In hopes to satisfy the cravings of the little creatures,

That will soon come knocking on their doors.

There's a knock and the door open,

"Trick or Treat!" says all the little ghosts, goblins, and witches with their scary little faces,

"Oh My!" says the grownups, pretending to be scared,

While handing out the scrumptious morsels.

One ghost, goblin, and witch at a time,

Fills their sacks as far as they can,

Then with smiles on their faces they begin the journey back to their lair.

Like a pirate finding treasure,

The little ghosts, goblins, and witches count their sweet prize,

Soon the sandman fills their eyes,

And with thoughts of candy dancing around their head they drift off to sleep.

Sweet dreams little ghosts, goblins, and witches.

Happy Halloween!

Cute - I'm kind of hungry for a candy bar right now.
