Oklahoma City, OK 73120
Oklahoma City begins autumn, in general, with Halloween. Temperate weather conditions generally make for an eerie All Hallows Eve. Kid friendly establishments and neighborhoods are plentiful in the metro area. Finding "candy profitable" localities are a must for the young goblin with a sweet tooth. The best housing additions for "door to door" trick or treat are in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Edmond is located just north of Oklahoma City and houses a plethora of new middle to upper middle class housing developments. The best way to find Trick or Treat in Edmond is to acquire a real estate guide which is available at most restaurants. One hint, looking for the exclusive neighborhoods is not always the best place to trick or treat. Why? Because the houses are much farther apart and demand endurance to run the neighborhood, plus driving will not be the best situation for your child since the roads in these additions are generally crowded. Edmond is a safe area to attain those devilish treats, just remember to observe all candy before your children devour the spoils. If door to door isn't your style, area malls will oblige your youngster with Halloween treats. Not only will the mall give treats, the local police have an area where your children can become "safe kids."
This is a great place to go with small children, or if inclement weather becomes a problem. Looking for scary? The definitive answer to scary belongs to downtown Oklahoma City. If you have older children, or a need to be scared yourself, the Haunted Bricktown Warehouse is the ultimate thrill in the city. Be prepared, this is scary! It would be wise to accompany pre-teens. This is "the" place for teenagers to hang out with friends, need I say more. The Haunted Warehouse is open the month of October. I recommend making a presence sometime around the middle of the month when the crowd reduces; otherwise you will surely stand in line.
Devilish parties are everywhere in downtown Oklahoma City. Costume parties for adults are at every club and many offer free cover while in costume. Depending on you music taste, you will find mainstream hip clubs in downtown Bricktown. If you are interested in a taste of Oklahoma, "Rodeo" is a great country bar/club, located on the west side of the City. If you want to travel a bit to find that Oklahoma flair, "Cowboys" in Weatherford, Oklahoma is an excellent choice for Halloween; it is located 1 hour from downtown. The only disco place to party is "Groovys," located on the north side of Oklahoma City. Wherever you decide to party, please don't drink and drive. Children are out on the streets.
Halloween is one of the biggest celebrations in Oklahoma City, and everyone will have a great time with all of the festive activities and temperate weather. One last plea before hitting the streets, be safe while you are out this Halloween season. Always keep an eye on your children and double check candy. Keep your heart medication available if you decide to undertake a haunted house with the kids. No one can afford a DUI and generally church volunteers will provide transportation for those who have too much fun. Have a Ghoulish Halloween!!
