Giada DeLaurentiis Welcomes a Baby Girl
The Food Network's Giada DeLaurentiis, and her husband, clothing designer Todd Thompson welcomed their baby girl on March 29, 2008. The baby was born via c-section at 4:38 p.m. in Los Angeles, CA. Jade Marie De Laurentiis Thompson weighed in at 5lbs, 13 oz and 20 inches long.
Giada, best known for her TV show Everyday Italian had announced her pregnancy on the Today Show back in November, stating that she was having a girl. The couple had tentatively picked out the name Jade, even though the name Giada means 'jade" in Italian. Giada, also had stated that she and her husband had no plans on having any children, but were excited about this surpise.
