Giants Super Bowl Parade Route Information

Giants Super Bowl parade route information: Some said it would be a jinx to plan the Super Bowl parade in advance. Clearly, it wasn't.

The Giants victory parade will occur on Tuesday, February 5, beginning at 11 a.m. at the US Customs House at Battery Park, located at 1 Bowling Green. It will proceed north on Broadway to City Hall Plaza, located near Chambers St and Broadway. There will be a ceremony at City Hall Plaza at 1 p.m., where about 5,000 seats will be available. Fans will be able to line the entire parade route along Broadway. This is the traditional route for New York sports victory parades, and is hence known as the "Canyon of Heroes" route.

Subways that feed into the parade route are: the A/C/E, 1/2/3/, 4/5/6, Q/R/W and J/M/Z. Metro-North and the Long Island Rail Road will run extra trains into the city on Tuesday for fans who want to attend the parade, and commuters who want to avoid the excessive traffic by taking the train. For more information, go to mta.info.

Among those who will address fans at the parade are Michael Strahan, who won his first Super Bowl after many years in the league; Eli Manning, the Super Bowl MVP; Tom Coughlin, the head coach who was almost fired early in the season before turning the team around; and Michael Bloomberg, New York's mayor.

If you plan on going, dress for rain. Showers are expected most of the day, with a high around 55 degrees.

Those driving in the city tomorrow should expect excessive traffic downtown. Broadway is a major thoroughfare and will be fenced off for several hours, not only for the parade but for preparation and cleanup. Commuters who go through lower Manhattan should consider using mass transit on Tuesday instead of driving. Multiple bus lines travel up Broadway, so bus commuters should go to mta.info to see bus service advisories.
