Gift Ideas for Bosses

Lee Wright
One of the hardest people on your Christmas gift list may be your boss. You don't want anything too personal and yet too generic may be problematic too. Some of the best gift ideas for a boss are things that can be re-gifted. It may sound strange but your boss probably gets twenty or thirty similar gifts and can't possibly use them all. The boss most likely will be reusing at least some of the gifts received.

One of the best ideas is food or drink. A nice gift of quality candy, nuts, or coffee. Liquor or wine is also a good option if you know the boss has no objections to alcohol. Food and drink gifts can easily be re-gifted or used as a hostess gift at Christmas parties. Or if your boss and family hosts a lot of parties they can use the gifts at their parties. Whether used for re-gifting, as food at a Christmas party, or consumed you can't go wrong with food or drink gifts.

If you know your boss well enough to know his or her hobbies or interests, a gift basket centered around that interest might be a nice gift. Some themes might include golf, gardening, fishing, coffee lover, cooking, baking, or grilling. A gift basket can be built around almost anything and can make a nice festive unique gift.

Gift baskets are easily assembled. Start with an appropriate container, fill with appropriate gift items, use some quality paper and ribbon to decorate, and finish with net or shrink-wrap to make a nice homemade gift basket. You can also buy a nice commercial gift basket if you can find one with the appropriate items.

Another excellent possibility for a boss is some nice stationary or an upscale pen, day planner, or address book. It is best to avoid personalizing these items because again they may be re-gifted. Many luggage or office supply stores will have higher quality office items suitable for boss gifts.

When looking for a gift for your boss it might be good to keep in mind that your gift might be re-gifted, so don't choose anything too personal. Food and drink gifts, personal interests gift baskets, or upscale office items are all great choices for gifts for a boss.

So, my boss, who makes ten times the money I do, should get a gift from me so he doesn't have to spend money on one of HIS friends? Most convoluted logic I ever heard!
