No worries! Because wood is used to make so many different items, this is one anniversary you will not have a hard time finding something just right to present your spouse in appreciation for the five years you have spent together thus far. The possibilities are endless.
Firewood
I'm not joking, you really can get them firewood for your fifth anniversary, but make sure that wood is sitting in the fireplace at some hidden getaway for just the two of you. Look for a bed and breakfast or inn that is in a secluded area where the two of you can spend at least a few nights alone together.
Chests
A specially made chest or small coffer may be the perfect gift for your fifth anniversary, if you think this is something your spouse may enjoy. Don't get just any ordinary chest; make sure it is special. If your spouse has been talking about a cedar chest to store special items, get them a big and beautifully crafted one.
Organization
If you have a rather large yet disorganized closet, call in a specialist to install wood shelves and spaces. You can also find closet organization items in department stores or home improvement stores if you want to tackle this one on your own. If this doesn't seem romantic enough for you, place a beautiful necklace in a small wooden box on one of the shelves.
Golf
Is your husband an avid golfer? If he is wishing for new clubs, this would the perfect time to get him some. Some clubs are called irons, while other are woods. Perfect! If you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to golf clubs, ask in your local sporting store to see sets and ask for recommendations.
Trees
Trees are, of course, where wood comes from in the first place. For a special and thoughtful gesture, buy a set of trees and plant them in the yard in honor of your fifth anniversary. If you know your spouse has a certain tree they are partial too, you may wish to get that kind. You can either plant them together, or do it yourself for a special surprise.
Gift Basket
Find a large wooden basket, and fill it with some of your spouse's favorite things for your fifth anniversary. This can be just about anything. Look for items they need for their favorite hobby, or opt for items like expensive coffees or chocolates.
