Valentine's Day can sometimes be difficult for women shopping for men. What follows are some tips for hard-to-buy-for men.

1) Ask. Take the time to simply ask what he would like. One would think this would go without saying, but sometimes the obvious bears repeating. The best way to know what someone wants is to just ask.

2) Consider gift cards. Look at where your man shops and purchase a gift card for him from that store. Gift cards show more thoughtfulness than cash but still let him decide exactly what he would like.

3) Look at his hobbies. What is your man interested in? How does he spend his free time? What magazines does he read? These things are great clues to what he would like to get as a gift. Take time to learn about his interests and then choose your gift accordingly.

4) Plan a surprise date for him. Try to surprise him with a

5) Consider having an accomplish. There is no better way to surprise you man than to have the surprise set up while you have an airtight alibi, like being with him at the time! Have a friend set things up for you.

6) How about an inexpensive hotel get-away? It can be great fun to turn left instead of right on the way home and wind up in an inexpensive hotel. Set up the room before hand with clothes for the next day; lotions, potions, and toys; something slinky to wear; and maybe some adult beverages.

7) Think like a guy. Treat him to an action packed movie, head for the steak house, or consider an outdoor activity like hiking or fishing.

8) Another very basic thing to remember about your man and men in general is they tend to be extremely interested in free things that you, ladies, were born with. A special date followed up with a massage, maybe a gentle bath, all the things you would like from him, actually, will make for a wonderful and memorable Valentines Day for him.

Really pay attention to him, to his body, to his interests. You will be amazed at how much he will appreciate it.
