House Cleaning Services

No matter how busy moms are, the housework never seems to be caught up! And when it does get done, it's no time before it needs to be done again. I've been given this gift before and it was truly wonderful! The gift certificate usually covers cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, dusting, mopping and vacuuming. Check your yellow pages under maid services.

Unique Gift Baskets

What does your mother like? Jewelry, perfume, hot tea, special coffee, books, comfy socks? Purchase a large basket, line it with pretty tissue paper and fill it up with her favorite things! She will just love the thought that you put in to it as well as the gift!

Babysitting

If this a mother with younger children, she needs to get out by herself on a regular basis. How about giving her handmade coupons good for weekly or monthly babysitting services? These coupons could be good for a few hours at the time or all day. She would just love this! You can find a reliable sitter in the area or do the sitting yourself (if your brave enough!).

A Spa Treatment

Moms have a tough job every day of the week so you just know that a day (or even a couple of hours) at a spa will be a much needed break for her! You can choose from a manicure, pedicure, facial or a relaxing hour-long message. If this would be a main gift for her, you can choose to purchase a certificate large enough for all of these services. Mom would love being pampered for the day!

Consignment Shop Gift Certificate

If your mother is not opposed to secondhand items, find a nice, clean consignment shop in her area. Some of these shops have household items, furniture, books and knickknacks. Others offer clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry and such. It's amazing what can be found in these nooks and crannies for a fraction of the price of new items! This is definitely one of my personal favorites!

Yard Art

If your mom is a flower bluff, than maybe she would enjoy something for her flowerbeds. Gifts like decorative flags, windchimes, statues, birdhouses and birdbaths and decorative stepping stones are some options. These can be found at outdoor garden shops.
