Gift Ideas for Parkour (Free Running) Enthusiasts

Brandon Miller
Parkour, or Free Running, is an exciting sport that is quickly growing around the world. If you are not familiar with the sport, you may have a hard time purchasing a gift for the Free Runner in your life. Here are some great gift ideas for any Parkour enthusiast.

Gift Idea #1 - Book

There are lots of books available on the topic of Parkour and Free Running. If your Parkour athlete is a reader, a book would make a great gift. If you decide to go with a book, you will have the option between several topics including Parkour history, techniques, and autobiographies on Free Running legends.

Gift Idea #2 - Movies

Not the reading type? A DVD could make a great gift. If your athlete is just getting into Parkour, a good instructional video could be a great way for them to learn the basics of the sport. An advanced Free Runner will likely want to watch some of the pros in action to learn tricks and techniques to push their bodies to the max.

Gift Idea #3 - Video Recording Helmet

This is a really cool, unique gift idea. A Parkour helmet looks like a motorcycle helmet with a small video camera attached to the side. This gift would serve two purposes. First, the helmet would make a great safety item to protect your Free Runner from head injuries. The camera is a great way to capture first person footage of each Parkour run and share with friends.

Gift Idea #4 - Club Membership

There are several Parkour organizations around the country that allow Free Running enthusiast to get together, train, and share techniques. Surprise your athlete by signing them up and cover their membership dues.

Gift Idea #5 - Gloves

Parkour involves a lot of climbing and swinging from objects. A good pair of athletic gloves might make a great gift. Gloves can help improve grip and reduce the chance of blisters and calluses on the palm of the hands. A good pair of gloves would fit snugly, but not restrictive, and have a slip resistant surface.

Gift Idea #6 - T-shirt

Ok, so you can't think of anything else? You can't go wrong with a good 'ol Parkour t-shirt. A t-shirt is not only a cheap gift, but you have practically unlimited colors and designs to choose from.

These are all great gift ideas, but I am still not sure what Parkour is.
