Gift of Love for Christmas

Mary E. Coe
Holy, Holy, Holy Night
The star was shining, oh,
so bright
Shining so brightly, until
it shown
To the manger where He was born

A King of all,
A King of men has born
To the world,
He taught His Father's commands
He taught love, He taught peace
and how to understand

Oh, but, men
But, men didn't understand
Who is this King? Who is this Man?
So many did not understand

The Son of GOD!
He carried that heavy cross
They nailed Him!
They nailed Him to that cross

Then, they pierced Him!
They pierced Him in the side
They crucified Him!
They crucified the Son of GOD
The Son of GOD! The Son of GOD!

Now, Jesus Christ,
He looked down from the cross
He saw His mother!
She was standing at the cross
And his disciples!
They were standing by her side

He said woman! He said woman!
Behold thy Son! Behold thy Son!
Behold thy Son!

Now, if you know not what to give, give love
For Christmas, give special gift of love,
What the world needs most of all
We need love! We need love and how
to understand, How to understand,
How to understand.

Excellent poem. You stated well the truth of the gospel. If we learn to give of His love, others are drawn to Him. Thanks for the touching poem.
