Gifts for Your Child for Valentine's Day

Jane Vee
For Valentine's Day, parents may want to lavish their child with gifts. This is not a good idea. You are celebrating Valentine's Day, not Christmas and the child needs to learn about the holidays, not just get toys. Giving one, small toy or gift to your child for Valentine's Day to let him or her know you are thinking of them is acceptable. This article will suggest items that are appropriate for Valentine's Day for children.

Valentine's Day gifts for your child:

Stickers - Stickers are fun and entertaining gifts. Most young children and young tween girls love stickers. A sheet of stickers will let your child know you are thinking about them on Valentine's Day without spoiling them.

Books - Books are educational and fun. If you get a book about a subject your child enjoys, that shows that you are thinking of your child on Valentine's Day and you are expressing your love for them.

Balloons - Most children love balloons. Balloons are an inexpensive gift that can help you say "I love you" and "Happy Valentine's Day". Balloons are more appropriate for children than flowers and they can be played with.

Stuffed animal - Buying an inexpensive stuffed animal for Valentine's Day will let your child know you are thinking of them. The animal can be a small one that costs between $1 and $3. This way the toy isn't extravagant and you are not spoiling your child, just showing them that you love them.

Doll - Buying a doll for your little girl on Valentine's Day will let her know you are thinking of her. The doll does not need to be expensive. Dollar Tree has several different types of dolls for $1 that would be perfect for Valentine's Day.

Cars/trucks - Buying a small car for your child for Valentine's Day is a great gift to let your child know you are thinking of him or her without spending a fortune. Matchbox cars and hot wheel cars can be purchased for about $1 at Wal-mart. Dollar Tree also has bigger sized plastic cars for $1.

Candy hearts - Candy hearts in a heart shaped box are a $1 at Wal-mart, Dollar Tree, and Family Dollar. You can give your child candy hearts without the guilt of spoiling your child on Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day candy - You can find all kinds of Valentine's Day candy in the stores that are a suitable gift for Valentine's Day.

$1 suckers or lollipops - Wal-mart has huge suckers and lollipops for Valentine's Day that cost a dollar. Your child will be eating on one of them until Easter. This is a gift that lets your child know you are thinking of them for days, if not months, to come.

Hair accessories - You can also give your child hair accessories for Valentine's Day. Hair accessories are thoughtful gifts that are inexpensive and will let your child know you are thinking about them.

Regardless of what you give your child for Valentine's Day, you should let your child know they are important to you and that you love them. That will be the best gift you can give them on Valentine's Day.
