Gifts for the Gamer in Your Life

Life
With the gaming industry becoming more and more popular every day, it seems that all of us know at least one person who spends a majority of their free time in front of the big screen. Here are five computer games you could give as a gift, assured to make that special computer gamer in your life a happy camper.

1. Team Fortress 2

Team Fortress 2 (or TF2) is an online first-person shooter that was released back in April 2008. That's right. It is nearly 2 years old, and I still recommend you go out and buy it. The reason being is the online community is huge, and the bottom line is this game is a blast. The community is growing rapidly every day and currently has a steady base of about 100,000 players.

On top of that the guys over at Valve are very responsive when it comes to updates and news. This game updates every few weeks which constantly increases the experience for the players. Team Fortress 2 is almost always on sale, too. As of right now it is $20.00USD and I would not be surprised if there was a holiday special coming up soon that drops the price even more.

2. Torchlight

Ever hear of Diablo? Well Torchlight is the project of one of the developers that worked on Diablo I and Diablo II, and it is very similar in both style and game play. This is a very good dungeon-crawler game. In layman's terms this means it's a great action role playing game.

Overall the game is simple and has a low learning curve, yet it is still highly addicting. There is a huge variety of monsters to fight and almost an unlimited amount of different treasure you can find. You get all this for $19.99USD, which makes this game a must have for any gamer.

3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

This is the hottest new first-person shooter game everyone is talking about. It has amazing graphics, especially on a nice computer, and has a huge online community. This is great for anyone into war games or first-person shooters in general.

I can say from experience the single-player mode has a good story and has an option called Special Ops, where you can connect to a friend and play through single player together. A gamer would truly appreciate this gift, and it is a relatively new game so chances are the person receiving this gift does not own it already. Do some snooping around first so you know for sure though!
