Buy from her registry. Find out what department store her registery is with, if she has one, and purchase something there. This way you usually get a lot of items to choose from and can pick your price range. Just make sure you do it pretty quickly after invitations go out so you have more of a choice, otherwise you may be left with hard to find, expensive items.
Make up a holiday basket. I got a lot of nice things for my bridal shower, but one of the most fun things was from my parents. They took a laundry basket and filled it with decorations that I could put out for all the holidays since I like to decorate. I got American flag placements, an Easter Egg wreath, a light up pumpkin, just to name a few things. If you like this idea and have time, collect items throughout the year even before you know about the shower. You can even get a great deal buying things on clearance after the holiday is over. If you are pressed for time, visit the websites of companies like Terry's Village. They usually have decorations for all occassions thoughout the year.
Create a scrap book. There are several ways that you can approach this. You can either gather things from the brides and the grooms past and leave room for the bride to add things from their future together or you can make a book of the year since they got engaged. Include photos of places they went, information from the various bridal vendors and leave room for pictures from the bridal shower. It's up to you, but either way, the memories will make a nice gift.
Get the bride sexy laundry. Try avoiding the white nightoutfit that the bride will wear the evening of her wedding - this is usually reserved for the mother of the bride to buy, or sometimes, the bridal party. But you can still have fun buying her sexy lingerie, thigh-highs, and massage oils to be enjoyed on the honeymoon.
A gift for their honeymoon. You can buy the bride a nice outfit to wear on the honeymoon, or find out where they are going and get them a gift certificate to treat themselves while their away. For example, if they are going to the Grand Cayman Islands, see if the Butterfly Farm sells gift certificates and buy it for the bride and groom so they can save a little money.
