Gifts for Mothers

Mrs.Rogers
There is no reason to go out and spend needless amounts of money on a gift from some merchant that will not be as cherished as one you can make special for your mother on Mother's Day.Below I am going to give you some ideas so that you can make this Mother's Day gift unique.
  • Make your mother a memory scrapbook.
You will need some pictures, glue, a scrap book, or you can make one, using craft papers and some ribbon.

Cut and paste special photos of your mother, and you , maybe some vacations when you mother was the most relaxed, or special moments in your life that can make your mother smile when she looks at them. Add some simple touches< such as dried flower petals< or some stickers or other embellishments. Maye you can personalize the pages with writings of why she is special to you, or write about your feelings for her.

  • Make her a sachet of her favorite scent or dried flower petals.
All you need are some cloth squares, or some fabric doilies. Sew the ends leaving one open so you can stuff it with some dried flowers or such. Then sew that end up. Maybe you can cross stitch her name on the outside of the sachet. Giving ti a personal touch.
  • Make your mother a fake flower arrangement.
Go to your local discount store, buy some satin flowers or silk flowers and make sure to pick a vase that is fancy or special. Buy a Styrofoam block that holds the flowers upright, and get some ribbon to tie around the top for decoration. All moms love flowers, real or silk ones. You can pick her favorite kind, and favorite colors. If you are good at free hand painting, maybe you can decorate the vase, including your initials, and date it, to make a time stamp. Be creative here. There are so many kinds of vases, and flowers and accents nowadays.
  • Publish a poem about your mother and print it off, and frame it.
There is a website you can go to and make yourself a published poet. I have been there and it is simple to register and make a poem, then get it published. It is free and it is neat to do. It is Poetry.com, check it out. What mother would not blush at the thoughts of your words about her, posted on the Internet.

Some things you might do for you mother o Mother's Day could be,

  • Repaint something for her, she has been unable to do for herself. Maybe it is as simple as a table or chair, maybe her front porch needs a new coat of paint. Take a Saturday and make it happen for her. She will be thankful, I am sure.
  • Buy her some flowers in pots, to transplant out in her flower beds, this is a nice gesture and it is thoughtful.
  • Give her a gift certificate to a local massage parlor, or nail place.
  • Buy her a basket filled with bath salts, bath beads, loofah's and more.
  • Make her her favorite pie and take it to her.
  • Get her a grocery gift card.
  • Record her a tape or disc with her favorite artist on it, or her favorite songs. Maybe if you are a singer you can record songs you have sung.
  • Make her a card out of things around the house, sometimes hand made cards mean more than store bought ones.
Sometimes just being thoughtful, is what it takes to make the perfect gift for someone who you cherish. Take this Mother's Day and give something from your heart, not really from your pocketbook. Make it personal. They love that.

Being a mother of three lovely children. I love to write if it will help others, and if it is read and enjoyed by others. Writing is like therapy for me. When I write my emotions come across and I believe...  View profile
