Gifts that Truly Come from the Heart

Squeek
I think creativity when thinking of a gift idea is very important if you are not looking to spent a lot of money and want to add a little extra thought to a gift to give to a friend or family member. Over the past year or so I have compiled a list of many gift ideas to add a little extra thought to a gift. Many of them have assorted different meanings especially to the person that is receiving the gift. There is a gift idea for just about anyone that includes the following.

Teenagers and Children

We know how difficult it is to purchase a gift that a teenager will like. No matter if he or she happens to be a niece, friend, or son or daughter. This gift idea below is not only a great idea, but if you start early you could find more things to add to the gift over a period of time. Below are some of the things you will need:

* To start off you can either find a tub, basket or something to hold the stuff you will be putting in the tub or basket. Most likely you will probably have something to be putting the small gifts in lying around the house or in storage. In not take a trip to the Dollar Store or some place where you can buy a plain brown or white basket. You are not looking to spend a lot of money on the baskets so make it sweet and simple.

* Next you might just want to have an idea of what the teenager wants for his/her birthday, Christmas, ect. To add a little bit more of creativity to the project is to accent the basket with paint, gloss, glitter, ribbon, just be creative. This way the present will not only be more colorful, but will be more meaningful.

* If you plan to start adding objects and other things to the basket in advance it will be easier to prepare the gift. You can start off by doing your regular shopping as you usually would to pick up something at the local department store. Along the way you can add to the basket, adding small objects. Below is a list of just a few of the objects you can add. Although, you can add just about anything to the basket and it will turn out great. You can be extra creative when picking out items to put in your basket to make the gift personalized.

- Mini hairbrushes
- Hair Ties
- Jewelry
- CD's
- Video Games

* A great thing to do also while preparing the tub/basket for giving is creating a theme of all the items you are going to be putting in the basket. A few examples could be Pokemon, Cows, and Strawberries. It really depends on what the interests are of the person you are giving the gift to. Once you have that down, the rest should be really fun while preparing the gift. I have already given a couple baskets and tubs to my Niece, and my Grandma. They loved everything in them too. Remember this is a great gift idea for not only Children and Teenagers. It is also great for Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents.

When purchasing the items to put in the tubs/baskets they do not necessarily have to be either cheap or expensive. As long as you find something that whoever you are preparing the gift for will like, that is all that really matters. So let your creativity take over, you will surely give a one of a kind gift. And the person you will be giving it to will feel extra special.

Edible Gifts

Yep, edible gifts are always on top of the gift list. I think they express incredible meaning, especially to the person that is receiving them. If you make them yourself it will not only save money, but will mean even more to the person that is receiving the gift. When you want to give some sort of snack food (other) to a person, make sure you know what kinds of foods they have a sweet tooth for. Or whip up something that is special that anyone would thoroughly enjoy. Below are some of the favorite foods to give and receive.

- Cookies
- Chocolates
- Sugar Cookies
- Fudge Brownies

These are only a few ideas of edible gift ideas. You will most likely have many other recipes that would be great to wrap up and give to that special someone. It is also a great idea to give edible gifts in combination with regular gifts a good example would be the gift basket/tub explained above. This would make the gift itself a little extra special. You can also give edible gifts to people that you do not get to see often, but want something for them to have while traveling. They will defiantly remember who gave them to them, and how much they care for them. Edible Gift Ideas are great because when you use a little bit of creativity you will certainly come up with some sort of great gift idea.

I have found giving these Edible Gifts to College Students. Especially if you are a parent and have a son or daughter that are about to go to college. This will give them something very sweet to snack on when they are a little hungry.

Cards

If you want a few gift ideas that will leave a lasting impression, and will add to the meaning of a card scroll down for a few pointers that are sure to pizzas up any card.

* Simple Cards- These are basically cards that are simple, and express only one thought in particular. This way the card does not appear to be too busy. Coming up with a theme to a card will help you to determine the perfect card for the certain occasion. A simple "Thankyou" or "I Love You" is great. Just to give a little reminder.

* Letter Cards- Ok letter cards are where you come up with a word, usually the person's name you are giving the card to, or the theme expressed in your gift. From here you would take each individual letter of the person's name and coming up with a nice short saying starting off with each letter of the word you chose. To enhance the card you can add a simple border, or picture on the front to keep the overall theme of the card.

* Computer Cards- If you want to save some money this is the perfect way of creating a card for giving. Not only that, but this way you can fully personalize the card you are giving to a person. Some tips to enhance the way your card looks are to buy special printing paper specified for use in your printer. Or if you have a webcam you could put a picture of something on the card.

* Homemade Cards- Nothing beats a homed card as we know it. The possibilities are ultimately endless to what you can do with a piece of paper. Use paints, crayons, pastels, colored pencils, glitter, calligraphy, just about anything to finish the final touches on the card you plan to give. You will not only save money, but this will add the final accent to the overall gift and card designing color them.

That's All Folks

Now all you have to do is find a gift to give to that special someone. I hope you found some of my ideas helpful. If not, please e-mail me or post some of your suggestions. Either way, I wish everyone the best of luck shopping and making everyone happy with gift giving ideas. I will be adding to this list in the future when I come up with more gift giving ideas.
