Gigi and Luca has a "barkery" that would be Bakery in people language. It has an endless selection of dog biscuits that are so attractive you would want to buy some for yourself not just for your pet. They come in the cutest designs, dog bones, mail men, cats and are iced in dog friendly icing. Beyond the barkery there is a wall of baby boudoirs where the puppies available for sale are housed while on display. They are each in a clean white cubby with clear plastic on the people side so no one can touch them. Gigi and Luca has a very smart policy that states only people who are serious purchasers can handle the pups and you must sanitize your hands between cuddles. They don't want the dogs stressed out since they are all so young and too much handling would be overwhelming. Also, most of them are teacup size and are too delicate for a lot of people to deal with.
On my most recent visit there were several toy sized Yorkies, a Dachshund , a Poodle, a min Pin, two Chihuahuas , some very small Schnauzers and an Angora cat. The Angora cat was wearing a diamond collar I believe she was most likely part of the stores rescue program. They will sponsor some animals for pet recue. They work with the Florida Humane Society, the English Bull Rescue organization and the Broward County Humane Society. The cubbies are all spotlessly clean. Each dog has a snuggle toy. Information is always available about each dog and what size you can expect it to attain when full grown. I did overhear a conversation about where these dog are coming from. The salesperson said "Not all puppy mills are bad, back yard breeders over breed their dogs." when asked if these were from puppy mills or known breeders. I was rather uncomfortable with this answer but I wasn't buying a dog so I just stayed out of it. Personally, I'd be rather uncomfortable paying such large sums (the dogs prices start at $900.00 and up) for a dog that may be from a mill.
If you can pull yourself away from the viewing area you can take a seat on the sofa facing the cubbies to watch the dogs from a few feet away. There is also a little playpen set up for an individual visit. Now, continue on around the store.
To the left of the viewing cubbies is the Holistic dog food. Gigi and Luca also have a delivery program where you can sign up to have your dog's food delivered directly to you on a weekly, monthly basis. This eliminates dragging bags of food around.
Browse along the wall atr the wardrobes for your pets. They have a sumptous wedding dress, fabulous hand beaded and embellished coats, charming little dresses and booties. You can get camo, coats, costumes and more. There are embellished t shirts, cute barrettes and right now the Santa outfits are in. They are offering an adorable denim coat with patches of cute fabric and an Asian inspired satin coat with the most exquisite beadwork you've ever seen. You can purchase dog perfume as well as shampoos and conditioners.. Speaking of which dog grooming is available at the doggie spa.
The Christmas tree is up now with wonderful dog ornaments, every breed is featured some with little angel wings. What a perfect gift for a pet owner. They also offer some charming dog oriented books.
There are leather, bejewelled harness for $62.95 or wonderful neoprene/mesh harnesses for $19.95. My dogs have the matching neoprene black harnesses that I purchased here. These are also available in colors. Collars come in every color, embroidered, patterned, plain, with our without jewel adornment and more. You can buy initial slides in diamonds in every letter of the alphabet, as well as heart or bone shaped. These come in pastel stones or clear. They are meant to embellish the dogs collars. You can buy enough to spell out a message or the pet's name or just buy one major initial. My smaller dog has Max spelled out my slightly larger dog has just his initial. It's doggy bling.
Dog beds of all design are here as well as wonderful enclosed dog strollers that give you and your dog that extra bit of safety when going for a walk.
There is also a Meow area of the shop for your special cat.
The hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 until 6:00 and during the Christmas Holidays the store is open Sundays 10:00 until 3:00. They accept all credit cards. Gigi and luca's is a spacious store that is completely wheelchair accessible. This is the store for discriminating pets and the owners that love them.

Post a CommentWhat good quality "known breeder" ships its dogs to pet stores instead of selling them out of their backyard to people they know and trust? 95% of pet stores get their animals from these puppy mills. Sure, the dogs are cute and the owners seem friendly, but all they care about is making a dollar. They buy these dogs for $200-$300 and resell them for up to $3500!!! Please do your homework before deciding to shop here
Gigi & Luca now do all rescue dogs. They are u for adoption for a $99 fee to cover shots etc. They still have tiny adorable dogs, I saw Maltese, 4 Chi's, Yorkie. They aslo had a beage and a Shi Tzu (owner oculldn't kee it) What a wonderufl place to adopt a dog and how wonderfu of these owners to do this. They are amazing people!!!They gave up lucrative sales to save dogs in need.
