Gilbert Arenas Guilty of Padding Stats

Last week I wrote an article about the unwritten rules of basketball. The number one unwritten rule in basketball is that players should not pad their stats. A report broke today that one star player in the NBA has been padding his stats. The culprit is none other than the Washington Wizards' Gilbert Arenas.

When I say Gilbert Arenas is guilty of padding stats I don't mean his basketball stats. As far as I know the 28 points per game that Gilbert Arenas scored were legit, unless Tim Donaghy was the referee.

Halo 3 is the third installment of the popular Halo series for the Xbox 360. Halo 3 broke the all-time record for highest grossing video game on opening day and one of those people included Gilbert Arenas.

With that many copies of Halo 3 being sold it's no surprise that some NBA players would also buy Halo 3. It's certainly no surprise that Gilbert Arenas plays Halo 3 because Gilbert Arenas seems to enjoy games a lot and he's addicted to winning. Gilbert Arenas is so competitive he once played a game of online poker during halftime of a basketball game.

It seems competition got the best of Gilbert Arenas once again. Gilbert Arenas admitted that when he and a friend of his play Halo 3 they set up dummy games and take turns winning. Gilbert Arenas and his friend then accumulate a lot of wins and shoot up the Halo 3 rankings.

Padding stats is just as big a no-no in the video game world as the sports world. The Halo 3 fans are sure to be very upset at Gilbert Arenas. Gilbert Arenas already has fame and money does he have to have all the Halo 3 records too? What else is there left for us normal people?

Gilbert Arenas also better hope there are no Halo 3 fans in the NBA. If Gilbert Arenas has to defend another Halo 3 fan sometime this year he might just get an elbow throw his way. People take their Halo 3 very seriously.
