Gilmore Girls: A Final Farewell

Watch Lorelai and Rory in Their Final Show Finale!

As Gilmore Girls wraps up their seventh and final season, all of the Gilmore Girls fans must take a step back, inhale a deep breath, and come to terms with the fact that Lorelai and Rory Gilmore will not be returning next television season to tell the story of the Gilmore Girls.

Throughout the seasons of the Gilmore Girls, fans have enjoyed watching Lorelai and Rory through their ups and downs. Whether it was dealing with the romance stage of Lorelai or sadly watching Luke and Lorelai drift apart amidst the coming-forward of Luke's biological daughter, or whether it was watching Rory go from Dean to Jess, back to Dean again, and then to Logan, Gilmore Girls fans have been there from the start cheering on Lorelei and Rory throughout the many seasons it has been on.

It's doesn't come as a big shock, however, that Gilmore Girls is ending. The creator of the show, Amy Sherman-Palladino, left at the end of the sixth season over contract disputes. It was sad to see the show's own creator leave the set of Gilmore Girls, but the show had to go on. Throughout the seventh season Gilmore Girls has not changed and evolved much from the fast-talking show that it has come to be known as and has kept its dignity intact despite the sadness of the creator and her husband leaving the set. Gilmore Girls fans will always be grateful to her for her work. But now, even with higher-salary offerings for the two big stars, Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, it is not enough to entice them to stay signed on to Gilmore Girls for an 8th season.

So does anyone know where the final episode of Gilmore Girls will leave its fans? It seems as though it's too late to have the show end with a big bang like a wedding, although Luke and Lorelai aren't officially back together. Just as the two seem to be patching things up between them, the show must end and so Gilmore Girls fans will never know if Luke ends up marrying Lorelai or whether the two stay on their separate paths.

And what about Rory Gilmore? In this seventh and final season, she has been rejected from two of the most prestigious newspapers in the United States and is troubled as to what she'll do with her career following Yale graduation. What's in store for her? Is the CW going to leave all this up to the Gilmore Girls fans imaginations? Hopefully not, but as of yet no real hard conclusions have been drawn for the Gilmore Girl pair, so fans must watch and wait for the final show episode to see what will take place and how it all will end!
