I have two calendars. One on my desk and another I carry in my purse. There are times I forget to update one of them. The other day I wrote a time but not the name of where I was supposed to be on that day. Another day I wrote a name and a time I could not read.
I'm not sure what to blame this new malady on. Do I just get in a hurry? Is it old age?
A few months ago we were at the doctors office at the time I had written on my "purse" calendar. When we checked in at the window she gave me the "deer in the headlights" look. "You don't have an appointment today. In fact, the doctor isn't in this office today."
I nodded and turned to my husband who was already on his way out the door. When we got to the car, I flipped to the back of my little calendar where I keep appointment cards. I pulled the one out for that doctor and handed it to my husband.
"We do have an appointment today, at this time. She's wrong." He said.
We won the battle on that one, but still lost the war because the doctor was not there.
Many years ago one of my "younger" friends enjoyed making fun of what he termed "my poor memory". I used to attribute it to the fact I had too many things floating in my little brain to keep everything straight.
One day my young friend and co-worker yelled at me. "You need to start taking Ginkgo".
I shouted right back at him, "Oh yeah, well I bought some, I just can't remember where I put it."

Oh, how I can relate to this...and I'm only in my 20s! I once drove an hour for an appointment on the wrong day. I am actually working on a humor article about the benefits of being forgetful, which will hopefully make all of us feel better. Thanks for adding me! I will do the same. :)
Patricia,
I'm starting to like you a lot! ha ha
I actually DID buy Ginkgo, and actually DID lose it! Found it months later buried in the linen closet! LOL
When I find it, I'll let you know. :D
