Unfortunately it was out of stock, so I decided to pick up their Triple Treat Invigorating Conditioner since it was for all hair types. An 8.5 oz bottle costs $7.99.
The Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat comes in a sleek, pearl colored, rectangular bottle with a wide base and a narrow top.
It smells mildly of tea tree oil, but it mostly has a minty fragrance. It contains natural ingredients like tea tree oil, peppermint leaf extract, eucalyptus and thyme oil, nettle, coltsfoot, sage, rosemary, and lavender leaf extracts, in addition to a few artificial ingredients.
Giovanni claims that it contains all of these organic oils in order to condition, cool, and calm the scalp and hair. The formula is supposed to increase scalp circulation, strengthen strands, alleviate dry and flaking scalps, and encourage natural shine and resilience.
I applied this Giovanni conditioner after I used a shampoo by another brand. I found that the Triple Treat Invigorating Conditioner felt really light, but it's actually quite creamy and oily. So when I used it on my extremely dry, coarse and kinky hair it made a difference in how it felt.
My thick strands felt really frizzy and rough before I applied the Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat, but as soon as it touched my hair, my locks felt instantly hydrated. The Invigorating Conditioner also seemed to seal the moisture in because my hair felt smoother and a lot less frizzy. Tea Tree Triple Treat also rinsed clean and didn't leave any type of residue behind.
The only thing the Giovanni conditioner didn't do was invigorate my scalp, it didn't even cause the slightest tingle. Maybe if I'd used the Tea Tree Triple Treat Shampoo as well, the invigorating sensation would have been more dramatic.
My scalp doesn't get dry or flaky too often so I didn't notice if this conditioner does help to alleviate flakiness. However, I did notice that my hair was shinier than it normally is after I used the Triple Treat.
In the End...
I didn't have high expectations for the Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat Conditioner, but I have to say it was great. It was very moisturizing and it helped to make my thick and frizzy hair feel smooth and soft. I will be using this quite often. I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
