Now I have said that the best toys at a young age for girls has been unisex toys. Let me tell you about the hottest unisex toy(s) on the market: Little People. My wife and I started buying Little People toys for my oldest daughter when she was one and just continued to buy the sets for Christmas, Birthdays, and whenever we saw a new Little People toy come out. I will tell you what all three of my daughters have loved their Little People toys more than any other. We currently own the entire village and other Little People toys that just come out. This is a great toy for children in the age ranges of one to about five years. Ok, but why is this set of toys so good? Let me tell you. First, the one thing that every parent is worried about is our little ones swallowing toys and choking. Well no worries, all the Little People village toys are big and do not contain any small pieces that can be swallowed by a young child. On a funny note, as long as they remain clean, I have learned that the youngest even like to use the Little People as chew toys. The Little People are full of color, made of a hard rubbery plastic, big enough for those little hands to play with, and made on an education level that young children can learn through play. To enhance the Little People experience on top of the toys, Little People has created the Little People movies that the kiddos love to watch as they are playing make believe with their favorite toys. I am not going to lie moms and dads out there reading this, I have had a lot of fun with the Little People as well. Makes for great play and make believe time with you sons or daughters. You know I could go on and on about the Little People toys; like I said they rock. Now kids do grow and want those new toys out there that may be a little smaller and cooler to play with. Let me tell you about the next level of toy for girls.
That next level of toys that the girls absolutely love are those precious Littlest Pet Shop toys for ages four and up. They are quite a bit smaller, so these shouldn't be left around the younger girls as they can potentially be swallowed or choked on. However, outside of that they are a toy that the girls can play with for hours. They have the little houses and rocking heads for all sorts of the little precious animals that the girls love. I have even been told by two of my daughters that they want to be little pet doctors when they get older. These are also very colorful in the pastels and are very inexpensive to purchase. My middle daughter has all the Littlest Pet Shop toys that have been created and every morning that I wake up she is downstairs talking to her favorite Littlest Pet Shop toys having a wonderful time fixing up her pets and making them pretty. Now I do have an older daughter that has grown out of the Littlest Pet Shop and Little People Toys, but that didn't stop us from finding the next best thing for her age group.
This is more of an electronic toy than an inanimate toy as previously spoken about. We know it best as the Nintendo DS. Again this is one of those unisex toys that all children can enjoy. In fact, they can even pic their favorite color to personalize it and make it their own. Once your children learn how to move their fingers and right a little bit they can play the Nintendo DS games. In fact, all three of my daughters have a Nintendo DS and all of them absolutely love them. We have created a time every other day for Nintendo DS hour where all of them can sit down and play a game on the couch. Once again my middle daughters favorite game is the Littlest Pet Shop games. The Nintendo DS is in a little bit higher of a price range but well worth the savings to purchase the system. The only thing you need to be weary about is the size of the games. They are about the size of a digital camera SD memory card so they can easily be lost. Another down side is that the stylis is very skinning and small as well so they can also be lost easily. I have already purchased three. Outside of these two small items the Nintendo DS is probably the best buy for any age group, to include the moms and dads.
In my opinion these three toys are probably the best buy for the kiddos and will keep them happy and full of play time and they also keep that imagination going. Good luck on finding that perfect toy for your children and when you do, the smile on their faces is priceless.
