Girlfriend Punched for Not Being Alarm Clock

On Thursday morning of last week, Drexel Green, a 27-year-old resident of Moon Lake Estates in Florida, needed a wake-up call for a meeting he had scheduled to turn himself in to his bail bondsman. Because of a warrant out for his arrest on charges of domestic violence, he was apparently very concerned about the meeting. When his girlfriend, who had allegedly been victimized by him before, didn't serve as his own personal alarm clock and wake him up on time, he punched her in the face.

Green, an unemployed man, did not stop with punching the young woman in the face. He allegedly held her down, then forced her into her own car, which he used to get to his meeting.

According to an article by the staff of the St. Petersburg Times, "Green dumped his 26-year-old girlfriend at his friend's house and took her car to see the bondsman, leaving his girlfriend stranded with a bleeding, swollen mouth, authorities say. Green denied the attack while interviewed in jail."

After his arrest, Drexel Green was taken to the nearby Land O'Lakes jail. The charges against him include parole violations and, of course, domestic violence. He was initially held without bail.

As the popular website Fark put it, "If you oversleep and are late meeting your bail bondsman to turn yourself in for violating probation for domestic violence, you probably shouldn't punch your girlfriend in the face for not waking you up in time."

Since the incident, the outcry from the public has been heard all over the country. Chris Spags noted in an article on the popular blog Guyism, "He may very well be going to jail for a very long time on multiple domestic violence charges." Public commenting on the issue shows that public opinion hopes that is, in fact, the fate of alleged aggressor.
