Girly Chic Pink and White Christmas Tree

Make the Seasons Christmas Chic!

Stand out this holiday season with a Christmas tree fit for the chicest in town! The following "how to decorate your Christmas tree" tutorial is one that you can either follow to a T or improvise on. But I promise you that no matter the end result, your tree is sure to be a jolly hit!

Let's start with the base - a synthetic white tree! You can often find these located in the "fashion tree" part of websites/stores. Once you find your way, you'll find that you have plenty of options. Some come with twinkly lights that are already built in and others are light-free. You can also find various shades of the white tree, from iridescent to bluish-white to white-white. For example, take a gander at these lovely white trees from Target. There's plenty to choose from, though I tend to go for plain and simple snow-white!

Now that you've chosen the tree that speaks to you, it's time to purchase some pink and clear twinkly lights. You can usually find these for under $10 almost anywhere. Some great places to look are drug/convenient stores and even the dollar store. Check out these Commercial Grade Mini Clear Lights (51 feet worth) from Wal-Mart. These rad pink lights are from Target and are sure to turn heads!

After you've strung your tree, add some ornaments. As I said before, I like to keep it very simple and clean. So, to do so, I suggest buying a bunch of similar/identical ornaments. The cheapest way to do this is by purchasing in sets. This Club Pack of 60 Barbie Pink Shatterproof Christmas Ball Ornaments are perfect and only $25.00 at BizRate.com.

Just an FYI: I don't like to spend a ton of money on Christmas ornaments unless they are gifts for others. It is possible to spend $80 on 2 ornaments alone, but I find this unnecessary considering the amount of time your tree is out and the likelihood of your ornament dropping/breaking. With that said, you can find some really great deals out there.

Last, but definitely not least, is the Christmas tree topper. Personally, I feel as though this intricate element is like the icing upon your cupcake (and the bulbs/twinklies are the sprinkles). This little baby can make or break your overall effect. And again, I like to keep it simple. Try a straight-to-the-point white or pink star, like this one from Amazon.

Now that you're finished, sit back with a cup of hot cocoa and relish in your beautifully decorated tree. Oh, and don't forget to post a comment below with a picture of your finished product - I want to see!
