Give to Charity with Free Clicks Online: Survey of Click to Donate Sites

Rose Ellen
Free click to donate charity websites are a great way to make a difference in the world. It takes almost no time and almost no thought. Simply go to the website and click the button. Charity funds are generated by showing you advertisements. You are bombarded with advertisements all the time, you might as well donate some of that attention to charity.

The first free click to donate charity site that I ever found was thehungersite.com which started about 10 years ago. This charity website was revolutionary. By clicking on the donate button for free you could generate enough income for about 1 cup of rice. This donation to charity may not seem like a lot, but if you click every day that is 365 cups of rice which is nothing to balk at. Eventually they added more tabs to thehungersite. The first addition was for saving the rainforest, eventually tabs were added to fight breast cancer, improve child health and literacy, and care for animals.

Now thehungersite is a source of more than just free click to donate charities. The site is also the home of valuable information, stories, social networking, and shopping. If you want to find online shopping that is committed to social justice look for businesses that advertise with free click to donate sites.

Several years later I decided that there had to be more free click to donate sites and so I decided to search for them. I found a site called povertyfighters but it went under. I really enjoy working with microfinance charities because they are sustainable. Money that goes to the charity is loaned to people in the developing world and then repaid. Once repaid this can be reloaned. I recently found another microfinance free click to donate site called solve poverty. By clicking I generate income that will be used multiple times over the coming years.

A couple of years ago I found care2.com which is a conglomeration of all sorts of services. They have a free click to donate system that helps with various causes related to humans, animals, and the environment. Care2 also has email, social networking, shopping, and connections for justice. I enjoy looking through petitions to find ones I feel strongly about and signing them.

There are also free click to donate sites that require you to use your brain. My favorite brain powered click to donate charity is freerice.com. Initially free rice was only powered by vocabulary tests. They have branched out to allow you to practice math facts, foreign language, geography, and art history as well. Not only are you sharpening your thinking and knowledge, you are also donating 10 grains of rice to charity every time you click on the right answer. This is a great one for kids especially because it can help them in school while they are helping others to eat through free click charity.

Just today I decided that this article would be a great idea. I found a list of a bunch of click to donate sites. It can be tricky to find the button and different sites have different requirements to cover the costs. http://www.thenonprofits.com/ looks like a great place to set as a homepage because it provides so many sites with a concise format.

With this list of free click to donate charity websites you can slowly but surely make a difference in the world. Every day, click to donate to some of your favorite charities. In these hard economic times, when everyone is cutting back on spending, charities often fall by the wayside. By increasing your free click to donate activities, you can help some charity programs to stay afloat with donations that don't cost you anything.

Really helpful info and timely too! With the strain on the pocketbooks, we all have more time to click and give, still helps us feel charitable. Cheers.
