Give Him a Metrosexual Father's Day

Let Dad Be Pampered like the Rich and Famous

First thoughts of what to do for your dad or your husband on Father's Day usually run to the more traditional items such as sports equipment, clothing, and tools, but perhaps this Father's Day it might be nice to consider giving him something that will allow him to step away from the stresses of day to day life. This may be the year to give him a gift that will allow him to spend a few hours, or possibly even a few days, releasing tension and living the good life.

Consider giving your holiday dad a day at a Day Spa where he can get a thorough massage, his hair cut, conditioned, and styled, a complete facial, and, if he wishes, his eyebrows shaped. Add-ons such as pedicures and manicures are always available to offer him a complete personal pampering. The cost of a Day Spa treatment such as this for a man usually runs $75 to $150 on average, and is determined by the area of the nation you live in, the popularity of the Day Spa itself, the experience of the spa's operators and stylist, and the quality and name brands of the products utilized.

If you think your dad may be timid or reluctant to go to a Day Spa alone, you can make it a joint adventure for him and his lady. Many spas offer a couples package that will provide the entire pampering treatments such as the massage, facials, manicures, pedicures, hair styling, and make it a thoroughly romantic experience adding champagne, music, aroma therapy, and much more. Even though the couple package is for two people, pricing for the two doesn't always double. You can find Day Spa packages for two starting at around $125 and increasing in price from there.

It could really be time for your dad or husband to have a week-end get away, but if your budget is limited, and distant travel is impractical, booking him into a local hotel or resort noted for its spa amenities could be the treat he will long remember. If he isn't a man who works out often, or who already has a membership at a health club, this might be the way to introduce him to the benefits he could gain from including some of those activities in his life on an ongoing basis.

The things you will want to make sure are available at the hotel you choose for him, to maximum his relaxation experience, should include a steam room, a sauna, a whirlpool, swimming pool, and full workout and aerobics equipment. A masseuse should also be available. Also, ask if there is a trainer who might be willing to give some tips on developing a work out routine or instructions on specific equipment use if someone is unfamiliar with exercising. A little personal attention in developing a personal routine designed for him could whet his appetite to continue once the week-end is over.

Of course, making it a week-end get away for him and his lady could really make it special. Booking in advance could offer some price reductions, as could a variety of special offers you might find online through the hotel chain itself, or other entities such as Hotel.com, Orbitz.com, and other. You might plan to budget $150 a day for a quality resort hotel.

The goal for the very special dad you want to treat this Father's Day is to make this gift one that pampers him from his toes to the tip of his head. Alleviating his stress, introducing him to, or reminding him of, the benefits of relaxation, could go a long, long way in keeping him healthy and happy throughout the coming year.

Massages are great. I hope my family does that for me this year.
