A Shine-Booster-Combine the juice of one lemon with ¾ cup olive oil and ½ cup of honey. Work into damp hair and comb through to distribute evenly. Cover hair with a warm towel for 10 minutes. Rinse well; then shampoo.
Lemons add shine-building Vitamin C to this super conditioner.
As A Remedy For Dandruff, the citric aid in lemons is a natural exfoliator that will whisk those flakes away. Just sprinkle your hair with half the juice of one lemon; mix the other half with 2 cups water. Shampoo, then rinse with the lemon-water solution. Rinse again with water.
Natural Highlight Enhancer-Add the juice of one lemon to your shampoo and wash as usual. Rinse well.
The citric acid helps to bring out your hair's natural highlights and the high concentration of vitamin C also helps repair styling damage.
SOOTHE YOUR SKIN
Make A Lemon Wash by combining a ½ cup of plain yogurt with 2 tsp. lemon juice. Lather it up with a washcloth. Then rinse with cool water.
This combo will clean, exfoliate AND moisturize!
For A Lemon Tub Soak Treatment-Add 1 Tbs. lemon juice and ½ cup of baby oil to a warm bath. Soak for 10 minutes, then rinse.
The lemons help slough off dead skin, while the baby oil will leave your skin soft and smooth. And think of how heavenly you'll smell!
To Make A Smoothing Scrub, take a lemon half and dip it in sugar (that's it!). Now go to work on those rough knees and elbows in the bath or shower; after 1 minute, rinse. Those knees and elbows will soften up fast. And the citric acid will also lighten up any dark patches.
FOR LOVELY HANDS
Nail Brightener-Dip a nail brush into equal parts lemon juice, equal parts white vinegar (half of each liquid-this helps lifts stains) and warm water. Brush over stained or yellow nails. Wait 1 minute, then rinse.
For A Very Effective Cuticle Smoother, mix 1 cup of lukewarm water and the juice of ½ lemon. Soak fingertips in this. Within 5 minutes, the citric acid will soften ragged edges so well that you can pat them smooth with a cloth. Then gently push the cuticles back.
Moisturize Parched Hands -Just combine 1 Tbs. lemon juice, 1 Tbs. honey and 1 cup oatmeal to form a paste. Slather the paste over clean hands and cover with cotton gloves for 20 minutes. Rinse well, then apply some hand cream.
ABOUT FACE!
Enhance Your Kisser by mixing 3 drops of lemon juice with ½ tsp. baking soda, then work onto lips with a dry toothbrush. Rinse well.
The mild exfoliating action of the juice will give you a pretty pucker. Your lips will also be very supple and have a rosy glow!
Lemon Facial-Fill a large bowl or pan with warm water, the juice of half a lemon and a handful of rose petals (they soften dry skin), mint leaves (an oily skin toner), rosemary (to keep normal skin balanced) or chamomile (to calm sensitive skin). Place your face over the bowl (or pan) and absorb the lemon steam for 10 minutes (It's very deep-cleaning). Rinse with cool water.
Looking For A Good Wrinkle Eraser? Bring 1 cup of milk, 2 tsp. lemon juice and 1 Tbs. brandy to a boil. When the mixture's down to warm, smooth over face, neck and décolletage (that's your neck and collar area) with a pastry brush. Once dry, rinse with warm water.
Did you know that women in ancient France loved using this same remedy? There's a lot of vitamin C in it, which boosts collagen (a fibrous protein found in skin, bone, and other connective tissues). And brandy has antiseptic powers. See all the things you learn here?
